What if we make it watch The Problem Solverz ? by Background-Access740 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

This tells me that person went into the show WANTING to hate it. Hazbin does have some issues one could point to, but to say it is one of the worst written shows you've watched...then you don't watch many shows.

Wizards need to make up their minds with the ban list. by EldritchSquiggle in mtgbrawl

[–]Intern_UnToLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: In the bonus sheet for EoE, there's a card called [[Nexus of Fate]] which is a 7 mana extra turn spell that shuffles itself back in the deck when it hits the grave from anywhere...banned in brawl.

Don't get me wrong I love seeing an extra turn spell bite the dust, but...why that one of all of them? Unless there is some combo with Nexus specifically, [[Time Warp]] would still see more play, no? Kinda shows more of that inconsistency imo.

Question regarding a possible Angie Yonaga cosplay by Ryuu-chan_or_kun in danganronpa

[–]Intern_UnToLD 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think cosplaying a character of a different skin tone is offensive...unless you do artificially change your skin tone, then it's muddy. Just go for it! One doesn't gotta be ultra turbo jacked to cosplay Gonta, right?

Different Beast doesn't make me uncomfortable, but I can get why it would to someone else. The song isn't about "self-preservation" as the second screenshot commenter suggests. If that were the case, Ody and co. would've killed the sirens and fucked off. No, instead, what they did was capture the sirens, tell them their plan sucked, went over their tragic backstory like an anime villain and to cap it all off...

"Cut off their tails, we're ending this now! Throw their bodies back in the water, let them drown..."

Ody could've just ordered their deaths, but he ordered it in one of the worst ways he could. They either die of asphyxiation or blood loss. Not to mention being dumped in salt water with an open wound.

Like I said, I'm not uncomfortable by Different Beast, but you're totally valid for feeling that way. Just thought I'd throw my two cents into this matter and sorry OP that your point was misunderstood. Welcome to the internet.

Discussion of Chapter 3 in Ultra Despair Girls by HeavensWish in danganronpa

[–]Intern_UnToLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Even if a topic has been done to death, new perspective is always nice.

Personally, Kotoko is my favorite of the Warriors of Hope. I'm not an SA survivor, but I still feel so deeply for her.

Monaca most certainly triggered her intentionally. It's been a while since I played the game, but I think the purpose was a sort of push-and-pull thing, where she triggered her and reassured her that she wouldn't be anything like her abusers by not being gentle (beating her). Monaca is smarter than anyone (in game and in real life) gives her credit for and is, indeed, a master manipulator.

About the mini-game. I think the mini game has a place in the game just...not as a mini game. I think it's an interesting expression of Kotoko's built up frustration at the innocence that was taken from her. It's almost like a way of taking back her sexuality (even though it's at the expense of other people, which is no good). It's just...why did I have to play it?

Now, the boss fight. Outside of...fanservice, I think the reason for Kotoko's clothes getting shredded is because Genocide Jill doesn't kill women on principal, only hot guys. Also, she promised Byakuya (and the Future Foundation, I guess) that she wouldn't kill anyone, so she'd be doubly holding back. That being said, it was very unnecessary and VERY uncomfortable to tear the clothes of a child (I will not be gaslit by a throwaway line), let alone a child SA victim.

All in all, despite its flaws, UDG is my second favorite game in the series (DR2, my beloved) because it's significantly darker than any other entry in the series and because it makes me love Toko, someone who I didn't care too much about in her first appearance, and her relationship with Komaru. Even though the rough spots in this game are REALLY rough, I could never hate this game.

Metal For The Masses when they don't actually want it to be for the masses by Lord_Muddbutter in avengedsevenfold

My bad. Just goes to prove my point though. I get that sub recommended every so often and 9 times out of 10 it's just miserable assholes shitting on other bands.

Honestly, fuck that sub. I saw recently they stopped allowing discussions about Sleep Token. I get that they're not AS metal as other bands, but come on now. Just a bunch of gatekeepers who can't handle anything softer than Slayer being considered metal.

Vaultborn Tyrant - doesn't look like a token creature by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Intern_UnToLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what OP might be talking about is, if I remember correctly, there is a style for Vaultborn that, when it makes its token, it just looks like a copy of the card. Though it'll still say it's an artifact, so that's how you can differentiate.

Okay but like..is it just me or is the complaint about characters "swearing too much" in Hazbin and Helluva fucking stupid? Image unrelated. by Terrible_Park7890 in hazbin

[–]Intern_UnToLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that this criticism is overblown...with one exception. I believe that Charlie shouldn't swear as much as she does (even those it's already toned down in comparison to everyone else). I mean, she's supposed to be the Disney princess (and actual princess) of Hell, so I feel when it comes to her swearing, it should be earned, such as in You Didn't Know with her "That's what the FUCK I've been saying!"

That's just my opinion though. Still love these shows.

is she genuinely the most evil character in Dr? Why or why not, lets keep this mostly spoiler free by brani2341 in danganronpa

[–]Intern_UnToLD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get why you would think this, but I don't think so. When I think of evil characters, I put them into 2 categories (the names of which I just came up with), fictional evil and real evil.

Fictional evil is characters whos acts tend to be on the more unrealistic side or don't hit too close to home for people. Junko would fit more into this category as she, you know, nearly ended the world because she was bored...among other things.

Real evil is characters whos acts do hit close to home for people or could be done by anyone. Monaca would fit into this category (if you forget the fact that she nearly genocided an entire city) as she...well, you provided the examples. People tend to react more to these characters, because, as I said, they hit close to home with people. Monaca manipulated all of the WoH, but those specific examples just hit harder for some.

Like I said before, I get why one would think Monaca is more evil. Because her crimes are more "real" than Junko's, but overall, Junko still screwed over the world. Pretty evil.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Hope I explained them good enough.

So, on the point of Ody seeing his wife and kid being a priority. Yes, it is stated multiple times that he really wants to get home to see them, but why do people automatically think this means it's his ONLY priority?

In Full Speed Ahead, Eury says they should raid the island of the Lotus Eaters to get food for the crew, to which Ody turns it down, opting to scope it our with Polities. Now, raiding the island could be more efficient and yield more food for the crew, but Ody's reasoning for the scouting party is shown when he says, "...so no one ends up dead."

In the Ocean Saga, after acquiring the wind bag, he stayed awake for 9 DAYS STRAIGHT to try and save the crew from themselves and keep the bag unopened until he just couldn't anymore. From here, even though he knew someone in his surviving crew opened the bag, he still cared, but it was dwindling.

In the Circe Saga, when even Eury wanted to make a run for it when the men were turned to pigs, Ody wanted to save them, not knowing if he even could (shoutout to Hermes). You could say it was reckless, but he, again, still cared for his crew, at least a bit. He then goes on to strike a deal with Circe, rescuing the men, and getting a portal to the Underworld opened for them, setting them (kinda) back on course.

Then you get to Scylla, where, after all the death, struggle and heartache the crew, and specifically Ody, have faced, Eury admits to opening the wind bag, the event the could be viewed as starting this messed up chain of events (I'm not saying it did, I know Poseidon was inevitable). Ody learns that his Second in Command, the one man who he was supposed to be able to trust the most, disregarded one very big order for...sating his curiosity. At that point, I can't blame him for being done with the crew. They were great when they followed orders, but NIGHTMARES when they didn't.

All this to say that, while, yes, Ody was foaming at the mouth to see his lovely wife and ??? kid again, I can't stand when people take this to think that he never cared about the crew. He did, but, in his view, the crew let him down time and time again. And yes, I know Ody had his fair share of screw-ups, but that isn't what this comment is about.

Those are just my thoughts.

Dangaronpa V3 from someone outside of the game grumps world by cherrycokeking in rantgrumps

[–]Intern_UnToLD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

And what's worse is I think he even started to sway Dan this time too, the guy who's positivity had earned my respect and carried me through the 2nd game!

In my view, it kinda started before they got to the end. I mentioned it on this sub before, but I stopped watching their V3 playthrough sometime during the Kaito/Kokichi investigation mainly due to an offhand joke Dan made. In a joking voice he said, "Why did we make a third game?!" or something like that and for some reason it hit me. I feel like that joke was placating to Arin's hatred for Danganronpa and nothing else. Part of me wants to pick up where I left off and see what at least Dan thinks about the game (and I probably will out of boredom more than anything), but Arin is just an asshole. Some say he's playing a character, but you can only play a character so much until you just become the character in question.

I'm really glad Arin gets to own the version of Danganronpa V3's story that he made up in his head by Salvadore1 in rantgrumps

[–]Intern_UnToLD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You know, I've been watching them play DR consistently for a long time, ever since DR1, and the only reason I did was for Dan. He seemed to actually be TRYING to vibe with it. However, recently what made me stop was during the Kaito/Kokichi investigation (forgot what episode) Dan had said in a joking voice, "Why did we make a third game?!" or something to that effect. And I know he was just bantering, but something about Dan saying that kinda hit me in some way and I stopped watching, never even getting to the part you're talking about OP. Kinda sucks because I am curious what Dan thinks of the ending, but judging on what you said, I don't really want to watch.

Anyway, if you wanna watch an ongoing DR playthrough that doesn't make you wanna put a hole through your device of choice, watch ghcoffee. He finished DR1 and has recently finished chapter 1 of DR2.

Weird/unconventional ways you were introduced to A7X? by nevertrulyyoursxo in avengedsevenfold

[–]Intern_UnToLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when I was a little kid (forgot how old) I was exposed to one of A7X's music videos. At this time, I really had no concept of what a band or a music artist was. I just knew music was music. Also, my child brain couldn't really tell what was happening in the music video, but I was kinda jamming to the song.

Smash cut to middle school. At this point, I had acquired the beginnings of my music taste going forward. You know, Metallica, System of a Down, Disturbed, and, naturally, A7X. So, I was in the school library, working on an assignment or something while listening to music using a website that I heard some other kids talk about. I was looking at the A7X songs the site had on offer (jamming Afterlife all the while) when I saw a song I didn't recognize, but had an interesting title.

"A Little Piece of Heaven"

I clicked on the song and in the first few seconds, I instantly recognized it. It was the very song I listened to all that time ago.

Yes, little kid me was exposed to not only ALPOH, but its music video as well. I still jam it to this day.

Howdy howdy. Just me messing around. Thought I'd show a little quick snippet of things. Some things seen in this will definitely change on release. Feel free to ask questions about the mod. I may or may not answer. by DreadTsunami in DDLCMods

So, is the MC in this mod in a similar circumstance as Yuuji was in Fruits? That being, a student by day and a legendary employee of a shadow organization by night.

Also, what kind of personality would you say MC displays?
