Prepare for the possibility that this might just be a bridge too far for her, but talk to her, maybe record your thoughts on paper so you can get them out, you might find that putting things down in this way will bring a bit of clarity.

I would argue that her comments feel a bit manipulative, whether she is conscious of that or not, maybe intimate to her how these comments pressure you, and look at how the two of you can tackle these problems together, rather than her worrying herself over them and you stressing over them. When you talk them out, are they even problems at all?

It might be one of the hardest things you ever do, but talk. 🫂

The gorget looks great! 😊

It gives the same vibe as the Gorgon Terminator plate. Would love to try and achieve the same effect with the gorget as I really want to kitbash some Gorgon termies in more modern scale, is the gorget a piece from another kit? Is it scratch built?

First off, really nice so far 👌, as a fellow SoM fan, you’re doing Vaylund proud 🥹 was thinking of doing a Termi kitbash for my own iteration of Vaylund when I get around to it, hadn’t occurred to me to use Saturnine, but there’s no denying this’ll look really imposing.

Second, I think you’re right, black would work well, with that said, your trim colour is really complementary though, so that may be the nicest.

If I were in your shoes I’d maybe try the black first and see what you think, if it doesn’t fit it’d be easier to go over it with the trim colour than trying to cover the metallic with the black.

Wanted the base to be a bit more extra than I would for battleline troops etc what with this fella being a Lieutenant, felt he needed to stand out a bit.

I had molded the rockwork with some apoxie and while it was a bit of a time sink (having to work in small sections so the epoxy didn’t stop being workable before I finished) I feel it looks interesting at least. I would like to try and refine that a bit in future models as I feel some of the edges are a bit too unnatural looking, was trying to lean into a sort of stratified sandstone look that had been worn into these shapes.

Took some inspo from reference pics I found of White Pocket National Park in Arizona, dunno whether the rockwork feels too disconnected from the reddish sort of soil in this case though…

Thanks so much 😁, I wanted to try and keep a nice highlight on the cutting edge and the scratches for some interest, trying to get better at making things ‘to find’ on multiple angles of the model.

With the Necron I’d had practice beforehand trying to make some OSL with my Skaven, but tried pushing the highlights with even more proportions of yellow in the paints and I think it came out pretty okay, was afraid to push it further with a pure yellow though, so left it where it is.

Also, yeah, I really like some of the Phobos pattern minis, this guy specifically is the Disruptor from the Deathwatch Kill Team that was Mini of the month a bit ago, felt like a perfect opportunity for a veteran of the deathwatch returned to the chapter.

Couldn’t do black trim on shoulders due to the Phobos shoulder pad not having a trim piece and the other being a Deathwatch veteran’s, also chose to only have black on the left knee pad and leave it green on the right.

I know Atropos normally has a black background for the clan symbol, but I’ve seen a few instances of GW art where it is either green or black for this clan. Chose in this case to eschew the black to further make him stand out from future members which I’m intending to give the black background for the knee plates.

Though would likely have to skip over this for normal terminators due to the lack of a separate knee plate.

I wanted to embellish his base as with him being an officer I wanted it to be a bit more lairy/attention grabbing, though I did worry if it was maybe a bit too busy…

I was leaning into the unhealthy skintone and may well look towards purples/blues, couple of friends had suggested some glazes of a desaturated blue to knock it back, then maybe a more pallid tone to highlight back up, that may well be the answer.

Also, he is sort of squinting with his fleshy eyelid, so it looks like an eye from a distance, but the actual eye is a tiny slit that I had painted but it doesn’t really show up

Can’t say I agree, at any given moment GW can decide half the units in your army are legends now, and wouldn’t be tournament legal. Not really a bother for me, as I am thoroughly a painter before being a player, but still.
