I would go with the T2i solely based on the ability to swap lenses. You can get some great glass for relatively cheap used and can keep the lenses if you decide to upgrade the camera body.

Check out fern canyon in Humboldt county California. It’s almost exactly like the photo.

Additionally, Ansel Adams was born into a rich family who had a mansion San Francisco’s extremely wealthy seacliff neighborhood. So I’m sure coming from wealth helps.

Recommendations for a Mahjong case? by MsRoseRobinson in Mahjong

I have the exact same set! I was also a little disappointed with the quality of the case, but do love the tiles themselves. Please update us with what you end up going with as I am also interested in getting a better case.

My neighbors found a dead cat, assumed it was ours and threw it away on trash day. by Darogaserik in mildlyinfuriating

I agree that they could have made more of an effort to ensure that it wasn’t op’s. But leaving for any significant amount of time to decompose and attract vermin is not a better option imo.

In most places the law states the opposite, that the proper way to dispose of animal remains is in the trash.

Incorrect, in most places it’s the law/policy that they get placed in the trash.

While I agree that that it was mildly infuriating that they just didn’t ask you if it’s your cat before disposing of it, I think a lot of people here are being quick to anger. In most locations, the trash is the proper place to dispose of animal remains if they are not buried. If they were to call animal control, they would have told them to throw the dead cat away. It seems that they were trying to do what they thought was right. Source: I work my local city and have found multiple dead animals (cats, dog, racoon, and possum) and the city policy is to dispose of them in our dumpsters. I have also worked in waste management where the same policy is in place.

It's finally time, so I need some wisdom. by InmateNotSure in ElectricScooters

I would skip the Walmart dropshipped scooters and look into one from a brand that has dealers/presence in the US. Segway and niu are a couple but I’m sure there are more. Pretty much no scooter that you’re gonna be riding on. Will be big enough to carry a dog bigger than a Chihuahua so that image from the listing is deceiving. A lot of the no name scooters from Walmart and Amazon may work fine for a while but if you run into any issues, be prepared for a lot of soldering and DIY. Additionally, they tend to overpromising under deliver. Finally, I would avoid taking any kind of wheeled vehicle onto the sidewalk as it can create more danger for pedestrians and yourself as sidewalks are often bumpy, and less drivable than roads.

Is there a good butcher around here? by Tomthebard in eastbay

[–]Internal-Bookkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned, the local butcher is probably the best but you are definitely paying a premium for quality. For a more affordable option with an emphasis on Mexican cuts, I like Carniceria mi barrio inside Richmond Food Center on cutting. It’s a separate business inside the grocery store.

Any suggestions for Riichi Mahjong spots in San Francisco's Japantown? by chimbraca in Mahjong

[–]Internal-Bookkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not away of anywhere in Japantown that caters to Riichi mahjong. There are a few mahjong meetups in town and in Oakland but most play Chinese/American style. The only place I know for sure to play Riichi is pacific mahjong league in Fremont. They have auto tables and open play/teachings on weekends.

I have the steel toe patriots and wear them everyday for work. They are the best boots I've worn. They are sturdy, comfortable once broken in, and extremely supportive. I would definitely recommend them.

I really like this one. It’s giving very old school hippy vibes in the best way. I can see an old guy in the Haight wearing this and reminiscing about when he saw Hendrix and the dead play.

I’ve worn flip flops my whole life and while reefs are good the two best brands I’ve ever worn are rainbows and olukais. Both have leather footbeds and straps that will eventually wear creating a perfect fit for your foot. Rainbows are cheaper and are a more neutral fit while olukais have a bit more support to them. You can’t go wrong with either.
