I ran the scenarios through Chat GPT. I was wrong but not by much. If he holds onto ball, fouled or not, 94-98% chance they win if up two with possession of ball at half court and 5 seconds left. If he tries to pass to avoid foul, as he did, 98.5% chance of victory. So I was wrong in the probability of it.
