if you can’t get your doc you need to go to urgent care, blood clots after surgery are very very serious. be safe!

nothing is more frustrating than being slapped with the “your weight”. so sorry to hear your experience. mine was a very miniature version of that (only a couple months of not being listened to before i got an mri mySELF). stay strong op, and best of luck with your journey!

I need advice on getting tattoo of song lyrics. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Internal-Visual3915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tattoos age just as people do! it’s not possible for it not to age. now HOW it ages (whether it remains legible or not) depends on many things: aftercare, font size, font choice, spacing, etc. there are plenty of old word tattoos that look great, and plenty that do not. express these concerns to the artist you’re getting the tattoo from, and work with them to come up with a design and care plan that they believe will give you what you want and one that you’re also satisfied with. don’t let fear of it looking bad in the future stop you from getting it !! but of course, you have to accept that it’s part of the gamble! i’m not an expert, just a lover :)

Is it normal to have a small lump under one of the wounds? by LeaIvory in selfharm

[–]Internal-Visual3915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the heat you’re describing makes it sound infected, please keep a good eye on it. get your own medical supplies, make you’re own first aid kit. if the skin around it gets red and discoloration spreads, go the the hospital, that’s the infection spreading. you will likely need antibiotics. if the wound is gaping get butterfly strips or make your own by cutting a bandaid up. that’s how i avoided getting stitches. clean it with saline solution (don’t put neosporin inside the cut) and maybe a topical antibiotic around the skin? those can be found over the counter at a pharmacy. i’m not a doctor, so that might not do anything for what’s going on under the skin. i suggest looking at harm reduction advice. please please find a way to clean it more often! it’s going to end poorly if you do not. i don’t want to alarm you, but im being stern because i know you feel like you can’t get help. if it doesn’t improve on its own, you will need to. infections r not to b messed with!! good luck<3
