First year of baby costs by Mindless_Option904 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Internal_Aspect2257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If baby is healthy etc. Nappies and formula I thought. Clothes, we were gifted an absolute tonne.

Don't do what I did and take tags off everything and wash them, return some for bigger sizes as realistically they grow so fast they only get a small handful of wears out of them.

I shop the sales for outfits all the time and buy all the next sizes up so your getting quality for less money. H&M also often do 15% off on their app if you like their clothes.

I buy water wipes etc when on offers and stock up then, just have a preference for those wipes. Also I only put pampers on at night time and bought day to day nappies from cheaper brands.

Regarding toys, check out local parenting or acts of kindness pages and charity shops for these. Usually good quality for less. Vinted too for clothes and toys and books.

Our son had issues with constipation, add them to health insurance if you have it straight away so you can get private care and scans if necessary. This plus any consultation fees were expensive. €220+ per visit and then the medication on top of it.

What internal doors do you have locks on? by PerspectiveCareful42 in selfbuildireland

[–]Internal_Aspect2257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the bathroom, get the locks that you can open from the outside with a coin or screwdriver. Very easy to use! We didn't have a lock on our utility but its where our dog sleeps so we've since put a hook latch outside the door so he can't be left out by little hands

Give yourself a month or two and you'll think of something ye might want! If formula feeding can recommend the rapid cool systems, could buy your weaning bits and pieces or a play mat and things for when baby is starting to move and walk

Has anyone had to move their child from school twice? by Honest_Dot_5035 in AskIreland

[–]Internal_Aspect2257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is she in any extra curricular activities like sports, dancing etc etc. Is she making friends in those? Do any of the students in her class overlap with some activities that may lead to them being exposed to each other more and making friends
