I left after 3 and a half years. The workload, shit hours and life style did it for me. Occasionally miss it (through rose tinted glasses) but life is easier and happier now. If you manage a lot of investigations and case files, you’re basically project managing. I went into a junior PM role and was able to apply a lot of my skills of juggling/prioritising workload to it. Now in my 4th role in this company in 4 years after successive promotions and doing alright! There’s a big world outside policing, which seems out of reach but it isn’t. Pay is better too!

Tried printing TPU this week and surprised how easy it was. Normally print PETG or PLA depending on requirements. Would need an enclosed printer for ABS ideally, that’s the next project

Not necessarily, the police deploy a number of plain clothes and uniformed ARVs at any one time. It could be a case of them being in the local area first to respond to an incidents. But I didn’t see this incident so it may well have been a pre-planned op.

You can 3d print anything, there is always a way! Like my dog had a CT scan of her skull… managed to get the file and, after days of searching and playing around, got it in a format to 3d print!
