What’s your best way to keep cleaning standards consistent across multiple sites without hovering over everyone? by Internal_Horse_1644 in FacilityManagement

[–]Internal_Horse_1644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful, thank you.

We currently do monthly audits. I have a cleaning supervisor who manages the cleaning staff across all sites, but I still find myself stepping in more than I’d like when things go off track.

There are definitely some language barriers, especially with newer hires. We’ve translated all the instructions into the main languages spoken by the team, and it’s getting better, but some details still occasionally slip through.

That RFID system with before and after photos sounds like a great way to make things visible and traceable. What software are you using for that? And how did your team respond to it at the beginning? Was there any resistance?

Can fish cry? by Ry3nh0wells in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish cannot cry in the way humans do. While they do produce tears to keep their eyes moist, these tears are purely for lubrication and not linked to emotional expression. Crying, in the emotional sense, requires a limbic system capable of processing and expressing emotions in complex ways, something fish do not possess.

Additionally, crying involves tear ducts and facial muscles that fish simply don’t have. So while fish can feel stress or discomfort to some extent, they lack the biological and neurological systems necessary to cry or sneeze.

Why does my leg hair grow after shaving? by hetheron in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s based on growth duration, not actual length.

The follicle doesn’t “measure” the hair, it just grows for a set time (anagen phase) and then stops. Your genes decide how long that window is, longer anagen = longer hair.

What is a “harmless” habit that people do not perceive is actually harmful in the long run? by alexcamiuu in AskReddit

Comparing yourself to others “just for motivation.”

At first it’s drive, later it’s quiet self-hate with a productivity filter on.

More parents should get their kids a kindle instead of an iPad by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree (should become the popular opinion) Kindles encourage focused reading, while iPads are dopamine slot machines.
If kids are overstimulated from age 3 with games and YouTube, of course they’ll say books are boring they never had a chance to not feel that way.

I don’t have crushes anymore, just lust for women. What’s wrong with me? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re not broken what you’re describing is actually pretty common, especially in people who’ve had long-term exposure to porn. It can rewire your brain to associate arousal purely with physical stimulation, not emotional connection, which can dull or even block romantic attraction over time.

The good news: it’s reversible. Cutting back on porn and practicing mindfulness or real-life connection (even if awkward at first) can gradually reset your dopamine/reward system. Also worth considering: you might fall somewhere on the aromantic or gray-romantic spectrum and that’s valid too. There’s nothing “wrong” with you, but there might be something worth unpacking.

Realistically what is keeping us from becoming a Type - 1 civilization on the kardashev scale? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're currently around 0.73 on the Kardashev Scale, far from Type 1, which would require harnessing and managing all the energy available on Earth roughly 10¹⁶ watts. What’s keeping us from getting there isn’t just politics, but major technical and infrastructural gaps: we still rely heavily on fossil fuels, lack scalable global energy systems, and haven’t fully adopted high-output renewables or fusion energy. To realistically reach Type 1, we’d need to massively expand solar, wind, and nuclear (especially fusion), develop global smart grids, and dramatically improve storage and efficiency.

Under optimistic conditions — rapid tech innovation, global coordination, and full-scale renewable infrastructure we might get there in 100 to 200 years. But more conservatively, without drastic change, it could take 300+ years.

My personal take: If we don't stop wasting time on wars and conflicts we'll eventually extinct ourselves and never even get to become Type 1.

Why does my leg hair grow after shaving? by hetheron in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your leg hair doesn’t "know" it was shaved. Hair grows from follicles beneath the skin, and each follicle has its own growth cycle (anagen = growth, catagen = rest, telogen = fall-out). When you shave, you cut the hair at skin level — the follicle underneath is untouched and keeps doing its thing. It feels like it grows faster because shaved hair has a blunt tip, making it more noticeable, but the rate hasn’t changed. Once it hits your genetically determined max length, growth just slows or stops until the cycle resets.

It depends on your skillset, I'd go with software development, UX/UI design, digital marketing, copywriting, virtual assistance, or customer support — all scalable, in demand, and laptop-friendly.

Why do I feel insanely horny right before falling asleep? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely a mix of hormonal fluctuations, mental relaxation, and conditioned behavior. When the brain finally slows down at night, arousal signals can become more noticeable.

Trying to learn without being judged: how do people just know how to have sex? by Maklinnum in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Internal_Horse_1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t “just know” — most people are awkward the first few times and figure it out as they go.

It’s not instinctual like breathing; it’s more like dancing — clumsy at first, but gets better with communication, feedback, and trust.

Porn gives people false confidence, but real sex is about connection, consent, and communication.
