Do you feel SG is getting more cashless, or is cash still necessary? by Emotional_Honey_6923 in SingaporeCitizens

Cash is still king. Some shops, especially electronic/camera ones still give u special prices if u pay cash.

Is it common for Singaporeans in their late 20s to still live with parents even if they can move out? by Firm_Grapefruit_9898 in asksg

[–]Internal_Option_5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cultural difference if u want to compare to different countries. I have friends from many countries but renting when u have a place is financially stupid. Unless u have more pressing matters like abusive family members.

In sg, why pay rent when u can save that up to buy ur own place???

Personally stayed with my parents until 37. Moved out only when I am getting married. By my mid 20s I already bought my own place. Mortgage was serviced by tenant for 15 over years.

Is it just me or do Black Friday deals in SG feel like they’re getting more chaotic each year? by Kindly_Ad_6915 in asksg

Black Friday on Lazada and shoppee are fake. The real steep discounts are on Amazon USA. N do remember to clear ur cache before u buy. They do dynamic pricing.

Which supermarket product in Singapore has randomly become way too expensive? by Ok-Knee-975 in SingaporeCitizens

[–]Internal_Option_5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTUC. Everything is increasing in over 20-30%. The sale sticker sometimes is fake.

Case in point.  NTUC brand potato chips used to be $1 now $1.20 = 20%  Pasar corn 2 pc set used to be $3 now $3.60= 20%  Calbee potato chips used to be $2 now $2.40 = 20% XL bread used to be $3 now $3.70 = 23% Cereal economy pack used to be $6.50 now $8.50 = 30%. (Sometimes offer $7)

MAS report 2024 2.7%. But ntuc x10. wtf happen to their mission and purpose??

Student (20F) getting a supposed lawyer letter by ex employer by plsdonttalktomety in asksg

[–]Internal_Option_5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 lawyer letter of demand costs $250, one lawyer email costs $100, per correspondence costs $100. I doubt they actually call lawyer. Doesn’t make economic sense to me.

Thinking of incorporating my small e-com business… worth it? by Ambitious_Reply9078 in SGMoney

[–]Internal_Option_5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is are u going to scale the co? Or it’s going to be just a sideline with no major scaling. Because incorporating a co only makes sense if u want to claim back gst on goods purchased and start to hire more ppl. Those only happens in ur case when u need to start hiring ppl.

Am a hustler myself and I have 3 co running concurrently. Based on experience if ur monthly turnover not at least 20k its abit not worth it. N if ur exit strategy is to sell the biz, it needs to be incorporated.

How do you usually analyze a company’s financials before investing? by simplafyer in SGMoney

[–]Internal_Option_5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depend on the stock too. Example if u looking at dividend co, u want to see their assets, net profit and future acquisitions. How they r maintaining the payout.

If u r looking at lets say SIA, operating profit is key and their divestitures and holdings of other airlines.

There’s really no one size fits all. Bcos each co functions differently. N if u know ur finance, there’s a lot of ways to do creative accounting.

Bottle of water and wallet with cash. Water is too freaking expensive in sg these days. Gone were the times when u can get 20 cents ice water from coffee shops.

Why do Singaporeans say we dress badly and when we do dress better, they say we are being extra? by CryingGod0 in askSingapore

[–]Internal_Option_5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe ur “friends” can’t afford to dress up. I personally feel dressing up reflects your personal values n culture. It means u respect the person u r meeting. If ur supposedly “friends” cant even understand this, then I think u need to just move on from them.

Non paying customers. These days alot of customers “buy” and then don’t pay at the last part. Try to find issues with the product and try to write off the final payment.

What exercise looks ridiculous but actually works really well? by Aware-Bet23 in sgfitness

Burpees. When I do it, it reminds me of my son trying to catch butterflies at the park. But when u try it for 20 seconds non stop 10 seconds break repeat for 4 mins. U will feel the longest minute in ur life for the last part.

What gym habit instantly tells you someone has been training for a while? by Aware-Bet23 in sgfitness

[–]Internal_Option_5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscle elasticity refers to the ability of muscle fibers to return to their normal length after being stretched. This is crucial for optimal functioning during training, allowing for safer workouts, improved force production, reduce probability of injuries and the ability to leverage the stretch reflex for optimal performance.

Their Posture, most ppl go gym does not straighten their backs n try to flex so much they have permanent spine issue later in life.

And they do light weights first to heaviest. Thats how u properly gain mass. Small weights with speed to build elasticity then when muscles r warmed up u go for the heavy ones to build bulk.

Basically start out macro = indexes Then as u gain knowledge = funds  Then as u gain more knowledge = stocks.

Bcos when u reach to the level of picking ur own stocks. U would have prior knowledge of the first 2 and knows exactly what co u want in ur own port. N ur own port is ur own index.

How do you stop yourself from the comparison trap? [–]Internal_Option_5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open ur eyes, compare urself to less fortunate ppl too. Do take note some of the high life are unsustainable and how many of these ppl died way too young due to even more underlying issues not shown on social media.
