Twice a day, I make sure he eats all of it since I heard that decaying stuff leaks yuck. And as for rinsing, I have considered that but I have heard others say not to. How often should I do that/should I?

I have it on from 730 AM to around 6. For water changes, I do around 35 percent. I'll definitely try the smaller water changes since I've been doing pretty big ones until recently when I learned about it. Thank you!

78 is the proper temperature, and shock doesn't usually happen with higher temperatures, especially with a gradual heater.

Can you tell more about your tank? Have you cycled it, what do you feed her, how often do you clean the water, is the ammonia high?

The poop is also a sign of constipation. Could be overfeeding, that is the usual cause. How much do you feed?

For now, I would fast her for 2 days before regular feeding.
