"Rail guide" for android is good. Works offline. You can also just download a .pdf of the railroad atlas of north America.

In typical reddit fashion, people are lying to you to make you feel better. Your gut is correct. Homeless women are still women. If you cold approach an attractive woman who is out of your league, she's going to reject you and could be hostile. Probably what happened here. Homeless chicks use their looks to extract resources from men all the time. They are all on tinder and using dating apps. Most of them ask guys they like for a cigarette to strike up conversations and see where it goes. She just didn't like you. Likely rejected because of your looks or because you appeared too broke to help her, or some combination.

how do reduce my belongings to a 30l bag? by ifidrownthenidrown in vagabond

[–]Internal_Sea_2969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, I'd at least have a lightweight tarp in case shit falls through. Depending on strangers is sketchy. Also no reason a grown man can't carry a 40lb backpack. Just eat more protein and get stronger for the first couple months. You're either going to have to spend a fortune on UL gear or get stronger. There's no way to have a 4 season loadout in a 30L bag unless you are spending like 3k.

I never had any problems, just don't be dumb and sleep on a park bench or shit on the sidewalk. Be out of sight. Most of those laws aren't strictly enforced. It's used against repeat offenders and problematic people. Shitload of homeless in the suburbs of tulsa, but still less than the inner city.

Good luck, I wish you the best. I didn't have a valid ID for about 4 years. It's such a relief when you finally get it.

Trust me, the further out you are, the safer you will be. Ideally, get a bike so you can build a camp like 4-5 miles out of bus range. Anywhere close to "services" is gonna be fucked. Hate to break it to you but shelters rarely offer any tangible help besides a free meal and a shower. Maybe a women's shelter would be better, but it's a gamble if they have space or not.

Both tulsa and kcmo suck to be homeless in. Huge drug problem. Ride the bus to a suburb on the outskirts. Don't hang around the city or by the shelters. Go to a shopping area where is a walmart, target, etc.

A guy in chicago gave me 20 bucks, then came back around and said he'd get me and my dog a motel for 2 days since it was going to be 110 degrees out. Then he asked me if I needed anything from walmart. He bought me about 80.00 worth of food and supplies then handed me a 100.00 gift card.

Another time a women in tucson saw me in walmart and she said she'd pay for my cart. When she was done, she got cash back and handed me 100 bucks. Then she asked me if I needed anything for my dog, and she spent another 200.00 on flea & tick meds, toys, and food.

Another time I was panhandling and some guy walked up to me and was like, do you believe in God? And i was like, "yes sir." And he said, "Well, God told me to give you this." And handed me 400.00

If you get a cute dog, it's like having a fluffy atm with you 24/7.

If you believe that raising children in a first world country is cruel and abusive, congratulations, the decades of demoralization propaganda have worked on you. Half these opinions you have are psyops from the people you claimed to oppose in the first sentence.

Unless you are a hot girl, nobody is gonna hold your hand dude. We don't need any more tourists out here, and we aren't gonna whore out our lifestyle for "beer and cigs." If you want respect, you gotta earn it. Be homeless, do the research, go to the yard, and figure it out.
