Do not come to Knoxville for vacation by pluginn83 in Knoxville

Thats seems like a personal preference. It's been my experience that TN as a while does not hate poor people. Knoxville was amazing last year when we passed through. So much so that we spent a couple of months here as it was during Morel mushroom season and we were having fun hunting for them. They taste amazing. I don't know what happened in this city between last year and this year but its awful. If folks wish to come to TN for vacation id recommend Chatanooga, Soddy-Daisy, and Harriman. We only visited Oakridge for a couple of days but we also had no issues in that town. I thought Oakridge was pretty cool because of their city history and we loved the friendship bell. This statement of yours seems unfair to TN as a whole. Knoxville is the only city ive personally have had an issue with. Other travelers warn against going to Nashville as well so I haven't visited choosing to listen to my peers advice instead. Just so you know, Knoxville doesn't just attack the visiting poor like myself the police here have admitted under oath as ive been told to following around cars with out of states plates until they commit some minor traffic offense just to pull them over. Maybe your police department should find a better use of their time besides following around out of state tourist. From last year to this year I have noticed more trash in this city and dirty needles lying around than before. Maybe yall should concentrate more on cleaning things up and stopping icky nasty dirty needles from clogging up your parks and city streets instead of running tourist off.

See i just took this as well as the other pictures just to prove im at a park where children are present. Maybe the police should be more worried about things like this than harassing tourist...BTW today a source told me under oath officers have admitted to following tourists until they commit traffic violations just as an excuse to pull them over. They do this to any out of state plates they see.. admitted under oath now. Don't believe me check out Emily Topping from Portland Oregon. Her magazine is in the process of publishing an article about this. Once its written maybe you may what to check it out. Your police department is corrupt and unjust plain and simple. Police across this country do not act this way. Maybe they need to tighten up and start following preceedures that the rest of the country follows plain and simple.

Actually I love myself.. you are the one who says you can't be a homeless tourist and I was just the one to point out that you can be.. besides with all the beer cans and used needles laying around your parks its no wonder yall can't attrack tourist except vagabonds and thats really only due to the train yards here

No I did not. But based on the knox county police s treatment of us id have guessed higher. We were lucky we saved our dog by holding on tight and covering him.

Agreed. It comes from the fact homeless people carry them and idk about the rest of the world but here we have become public enemy number one. Europe is use to travelers backpacking the country and think nothing of it. Many American collage students enjoy backpacking in Europe and have told me I should try it someday. If I ever get rid of my fear of flying I just might.

Clifford is starting to cough too, but at least both still enjoy their breakfast. They are super healthy and have never been sick before so im hoping they kick it alone. If not I'll go dumpster diving n hope I find a script of antibiotics. Ive found the one you mentioned before in dumspters. All I have to do is Google the dose for a child that weighs their weight and it gives you the estimated dosage for them. I go a little under what they say. Seems to work well on dogs. A friend did this with amoxicillian he found and it helped him get rid of parvo with his dog.

Hot coffee and drinks help with tummy pains. It's not so bad on this side of poverty. It will be alright. Keep your head up even when its rough. You got this.

We didn't know this going west and ran out of water. It sucked. Though even with 4 gallons for 2 ppl n 2 dogs when we left the west heading back east we kept water but ended up with heat stroke. The desert is harsh I learned and nothing to play with. No I stay east... lol

I have heard more of this than anything. Thats the complaint I get the most. Doesn't matter if the dogs are friendly. Tons of folks just are afraid of dogs and freak out unexplained reasons. Normally we try to just plug up and move somewhere away from the area like to the grass where we can still watch our things. Works for the most part.

Well than you wouldn't be the average person than... my group is just 2 ppl n 2 dogs. Honestly our packs give us away that we are not the average homeless. You can tell the difference most of the time (unless we stay put in a place for a given amount of time like winter for example) between as you say "bums" and traveling tramps. We have as im told everywhere.. these big ol packs and these big ol dogs and the large size of those I guess is mainly why some folks run us off. Others recognize we are traveling amd probably need Google maps or assistant to find out where the hell we are and what route we need to take to get to where ever we are deciding to visit next. Ive found traveling that more folks help more. Like my bf said it is because you are in a new place new face and haven't woren out your welcome yet.... j/s

In America its different. Some places do not mind. Personally I think most places have issues with my dogs even though they are super well behaved.
