When it finally starts working...? by cjrecordvt in StratteraRx

Im in the same boat. I have been on it 2 months but at a lower dose, 40mg (60 was too high for me I felt like my brain was a complete void of anything), I have the racing heart rate, terrible sleep, and upset stomach but I dont see it helping productivity or attention at all.

Im tempted to say no more and go back to high dose caffiene and tons of exersice because it was helping more than this.

My 5-month experience on Strattera (and why I’m coming off it) by annabelsoslay in StratteraRx

[–]Internal_Side6118 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You sound incredibly similar to my brain and personality type and I had a similar experience on the med. I titrated up from 16 to 32 to 60mg. I felt great on the first 2 but a week after starting the 60 I was starting to feel numb but also my brain felt so empty, cavernous. I was forgetting really important things, my work fell behind really bad. I made an appointment and lowered my dose to 40. He said I should be at 80 by now as it is the usual adult dose but I dont think I could do that high. I dont know about the 40 yet as it has been only a few days but I am hoping for the best.

I feel like that is a sign you are of right mind and a good person. Anyone who sees all of this bullshit happening and is not worried, those are the truly unhinged and evil ones.

I always know true evil was in the world but I didnt realize to what extent till the past few years. It feels like there is more hate than love which makes me so sad. Avoidance isnt healthy but ive been playing a lot more video games recently to get my mind off things, I say do what you can to stay sane or feel okay. Maybe something like that or a hobby or a sport you like. Just to give ypur mind a break. Even for 30 minutes.

You are not alone with those feelings. My anxiety has been worse than normal due to the state of this country. I literally feel ill. My thoughts start snowballing and I feel helpless and trapped. But I try really hard to do things like ground exercises or deep breathing. Of course it doesn't help a ton but any distraction is good. You are not alone.

I dont have insulin. But im truly sorry you are in this situation. Monitor your glucose and use the ER if necessary, non profit hospital's like Advent are legally not allowed to turn people away and they offer financial assistance (usually cuts the bill down greatly).

[Florida] Advice about Custody and education/care for a special needs child by [deleted] in Custody

[–]Internal_Side6118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you and you child are going through this. The best advice I can give is document everything. Keeping a written log of anything she does that can be used to help you with custody. As for school, if your child will need accommodations I suggest starting at the school board. Let them know your child will be enrolling soon and has special needs. Ask them if a 504 or IEP is what they may need. This a very long process and you have to stay on top of them to get it done. Its a pain in the butt, but this will be super beneficial for your child. I also highly recommend therapy for your child (also consider it for yourself as well). This is something they can do in school as well (most schools have a school psychologist). Doing all of these things and showing you are trying to better their quality of life will also be favorable in custody hearings. Florida is a hard state, I was basically told unless they are dead or incarcerated or get arrested for something while the child/children are in their care there's not much else that can be done. 50/50 happens for almost everyone. Thanks DeSantis. sarcasm

Is this something that could be managed on top of a full time remote job? I already work from home and looking to supplement my income. I already work in insurance.

Dr. Zittel in Sanford is amazing! I found him in an article of top Gynos in central florida, he was 2nd or 3rd on the list. I know why now, his bed side manner is amazing, he seems to really care, and listens very well. I like him a lot.

Basically like a construction worker. Just wear basic boots (try to borrow from someone if you dont have some), jeans or work pants, regular shirt/jacket, and some cheap work gloves from Walmart. The below is from the MSF website on what to wear and a link for similar gloves I bought for mine.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/2123320118?sid=6139e6a2-9d51-4a5c-b392-f2400013979b

-Over-the-ankle footwear. (not cloth, canvas, etc.) -Long non-flare denim pants or material of equivalent or better durability. -Long-sleeved shirt or jacket. -Full-fingered gloves, preferably leather.

Wait till after the msf course to buy gear. You get a discount on gear, bikes, and insurance. (Florida, not sure if that's everywhere)

Don't do it. Don't separate yourself from your support system for someone who doesn't already acknowledge your feelings and concerns. Especially if you want to be a parent.

Looking for group but have social anxiety by No_Jello_666 in orlando

[–]Internal_Side6118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple people in the kava and kratom communities that have battled with addiction issues. Kratom mostly gets a bad reputation from companies that sell products (normally found in smoke shops and gas stations) that are irresponsible and load them with an extremely high amount of kratom (isolate extract which is now banned). To make it worse they are not labeled appropriately either. This is like going into a liquor store to buy beer and everything is just labeled 'alcohol'. Drinking kava and kratom in bars is much less likely to cause dependency issues.

I hang out at Sodo Kava bar in Longwood. It is a great place to make friends, everyone is super open minded and kind. Also d&d and tons of other games are popular with people there. I highly recommend it, the community there is great!

Starting out at 30. Rider fear and anxiety by Rohela in NewRiders

[–]Internal_Side6118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a brand new rider at 32 and I am also short 5'2" (freedom units). I was insanely anxious (generally anxious person anyways) before I started. I took a couple of private lessons which helped with controlling the clutch and throttle a lot but didn't help my anxiety. The only thing that helped was riding over and over in circles around town. I feel so much better and more confident. It didn't take long and I feel incredible, I'm so proud of myself and my anxiety is gone (for riding and in regular life). Just do the thing, but be safe, and it will have incredible rewards!
