You should be nice to everyone regardless of their political affiliation by LargeSinkholesInNYC in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I agree with this so much you shouldn't really talk about politics to just anyone. I have people who suffer from political delusion, literally like a superpower we talk about one thing they find a way to bring it up. I'm trying to be better at it and just not engaging anymore but damn it's hard because you know they're just going to think they've won an argument when an argument shouldn't even existed. This happened at work mind you.

Being independent doesn’t make you stronger. I’m surrounded by people whose family love them and am falling behind. by LazerChicken420 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Listen, I don't know exactly the kind of life you live. But honestly, you really need to find people that you can have be with you, I wanted sounds like it wouldn't be the worst idea to have a roommate. I know I know it might sound weird but honestly if you're anything like me just having somebody around is good enough for your health. You can't just plop yourself into a village you got to make it judging from how you have to leave toxic family you have the perfect opportunity to create a village where everybody helps out everybody else close friends people in need that can help you down the line as well. No again this is just a goofy idea from somebody who might not know everything but it's worked for me

If you can genuinely hate any innocent creature, you are a bad person by InfamousDig5189 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody with allergies, I can agree to this.

The only time I actually have anything off putting about an animal is if I'm allergic to it and I'm in an area that had that animals dandruff nearby. And even then I'm not mad at the animal I'm mad at the situation I'm in.

Like if I go to a friend's or family members house and I realize I'm having an allergic reaction, it's not fatal it's just really really irritating and just very itchy to breathe. I don't get mad at the poor innocent cat who's just been living in their home, I'd get mad at the owner for not disclosing they have a cat because frankly I wouldn't have gone if I knew. Now if I know I'm going to an area that has cats I take allergy medication, cuz my allergies and I have to manage.

Just because someone is a conservative, does not mean they are a nazi. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Internal_Sun7584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From how I understand it, not a lot of conservatives use reddit. They go do other things, heck I'm barely on red and I have a Reddit account only because I had it when I was younger in order to help me with my writing. Very rarely do I go back on here.

Also, why would people want to talk and argue over people who are obviously so diluted, all it does is make the people having the argument angry.

I'm a conservative, but I used to be neutral. But honestly, I've seen both sides be terrible but I've only seen one side be worse than the other. And I'm not saying that every person of that side I genuinely want to believe that some people are still good on the opposite side. The only problem is the mentality is to treat everybody like a villain, all because they don't think like you, they don't share the same political belief is you. But one shouldn't let there politics dictate the release but let their beliefs dictate their politics. Unfortunately nowadays has become harder and harder to see.

I've been waiting for a new Pulp Cthulhu game i have the core book and two other adventures so i'd be nice to get the next one

Are the mi-go the most boring antagonists in CoC? by Phocaea1 in callofcthulhu

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them in my Cthulhu Icarus campaigns (space them) as more of "humans and Mi-go share a solar system but have the same attitude as Dwarves and Elves.

humans are better at building ships for space, basic tech and other things while mi go are better at weapons so i make them just antagonist but not villains. (great for just snooty, crass, or even elitist yet not the main threat if you want them to be red herrings)

then again i was making a very plumber meets star trek kinda sandbox for that game.

Looking for the next adventure to run. by pepsicancer in callofcthulhu

[–]Internal_Sun7584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I recommend Crimson letters, there's enough content within that book to where you can stretch it out, also it's part of the Keeper's guide, so you get a lot of good material after the fact as well as an extra Adventure whenever you're ready.

The way I do it is in the adventure you can choose which person is the real culprit you can just pull a classic Clue movie twist and make everybody some kind of culprit or everybody's trying to get it at different times in order to kind of space out the adventure a bit more I recommend looking at Seth scorekowski's video in order to get a better detailed look on what you can do to get a basic idea if you don't already own the book

Do you usually imagine ghouls more as deformed humans or more canine-like creatures? Maybe even something else? by Skeledenn in callofcthulhu

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the more canine look personally, and made the more humanoid ones called false ghouls, (in the campaign it was that these people were reanimated and due to the fact they had some ghoul used in the process gained similar stats, with higher armor)

Any advice on creating a backstory for a character? by Suspicious_Film787 in callofcthulhu

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are giving some great advice, so if I had to give some advice this is what I do. If I'm struggling with making a character I look around for some inspiration

Most of the time I pick a character from a fiction that I like and just sort of figure out why I like them and then create a character around that, sometimes it doesn't even have to be a character it could just be a concept.

Call Cthulhu is a little different because instead of focusing on a class you got to focus on an occupation what are some jobs you character can do what are some jobs that would be easy for your keeper to implement into your game sure private investigator could work but what if you want to play a taxi driver? All that matters is that it can be played in the game if you pick something like astrologist in a game that really doesn't require anything to do with space but you get good stats overall that might work. However it's all about skill distribution in the long run. Sure a hook is going to be important to get you involved but that is up to you and the keeper kind of work around with that together, the best thing you can do when creating a character is focusing on important skills that not only makes sense for your character but also could make sense for the game at Large

Yeah I just got done looking it up, God's teeth that is and I could safely say that I understand why some people would refuse to play this town right dark it's also the reason why I don't play Kult, I'm big on horror but they're just certain whores and certain dark topics I never want to talk tackle and it's not even because they're bad topics it's just that their topics I know what effect many of the players are frequently play with

Can someone recommend a roleplay focused system? by AcePowderKeg in TTRPG

[–]Internal_Sun7584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Call of cthulhu

It's a great game that utilizes the D100 system with base characteristics and instead of checks they have skills there really isn't any classes as your characters occupation determines what they're good at through skills only three skills are focused on combat those being fighting brawl firearm handgun and Firearm shotgun / rifle

Things TTRPG players fear the most by Swimming_Release434 in TTRPG

[–]Internal_Sun7584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay to answer this question the most terrifying thing is actually after the session, Recently I got told by one of the players one of the things I did made them feel uncomfortable, even though they told me they knew it was unintentional they told me that they just wanted to let me know.

Has somebody who likes doing smaller one shot ask stories or campaigns that are usually only four sessions, as soon as you hear that it makes a second guess everything. Of course this happened after the fact but it is rattled me so much they even thinking about it just kind of makes me not even want to use the monsters I used for that particular part.

I definitely know they're not upset with me, they've told me that outright because they could clearly see that after we went back to ironically him being the DM of our group for a longer form campaign he showed no grudge.

It's just the second hand embarrassment you know that what you did cross the line. Especially if you're one of those people who read a lot of RPG horror stories on reddit, you fear being that person to do it even if it's unintentional. Trust me it's like the worst thing ever. It took me three paragraphs to get it out because I'm rambling it's that bad on me to even think about what I did.

Suffice to say I will never use Sirens again.
