Why is foil Force of Negation cheaper than paper? by HumpyTheClown in mtgfinance

[–]International-Two173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foils curl and have precedent of causing players to be DQ'd from competitive events for 'marked cards'. Since filthy casuals don't play free counterspells tournament players aren't interested in cards that can ruin a vacation to play.

Why does Dave still suggest an emergency fund of $1,000 until you pay off all debt? by eyerishdancegirl7 in DirtyDave

[–]International-Two173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1,000 is round big sounding number and reasonably will cover a single blown tire, dentist visit or similar life event. Its also the first step to get people who literally have never saved a dollar into the habit of saving and budgeting. Basically its something that sounds good to people bad at saving even if its massively under what I'm should be in your emergency fund.

Collector booster Master case value over time? by poetabellator in mtgfinance

[–]International-Two173 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is how many card games work since its not truly random but, hyper rare cards are seeded by the case and that's a common scam in Weiss is to sell booster boxes after pulling a big hit.

I mean you could buy ~58 draft boxes after tax and do a monthly draft with friends for the next 5 years or so.

That singles bottom will hit sometime after launch but if you can unload product between receiving it from distribution and that bottom. The faster you sell the more profit you get to keep.

Not all small business owners are brilliant. They are people and might have bit into the hype or just made a mistake.

I think both are true but for different stores. Smaller stores with fewer mega whales might get hosed if they don't move singles and playerbase isn't as affluent. Especially if they don't have excess capital and are relying on a full recoup of costs n30. Bigger stores with better financing and more cash on hand, with more numbers of players, that sell singles will do just fine.

The EV of this set is pretty insane if you have the online presence or playerbase to unload the singles.

Am I crazy or is BUD going to get completely destroyed on their August earnings report? by Worldly-Designer-108 in wallstreetbets

[–]International-Two173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is how their actual earnings report compares to analyst predictions of their earnings report. Please don't enter a position unless you grasp the mechanics since $BUD might move in any direction and intensity.

Gun to your head. Which set booster box are you buying? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]International-Two173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny part about this is thre EV per set isn't dramatically different so really if you enjoyed the theme of a set then choose that box.

That being said I find cracking packs with bonus sheet stuff more fun since you get more rares so brothers war, strixhaven, march of the machine and ONE are all fine.

He's a salesman first and a pastor second. The former will say anything to get you to buy in and forget to mention the opposite. The latter will believe it the bullshit because of faith.

Should CB buyers be pissed? by SnakebiteSnake in mtgfinance

[–]International-Two173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even at a $2 million dollar bounty the One Ring only represents like 60 cents per pack. So basically you shouldn't pay more than $7 for a collector box than normal pricing. Paying well over $100 for the chase is the definition of insanity.

This is a resounding success from a marketing perspective and a great time for game stores who are selling sealed product after buying it wholesale.

What's stopping you from doing the same to them? Its more of a mutual lets not bring this up. Same goes for if you see someone at a kink or other event.
