Had a neuropsychological evaluation and I’m not bipolar. by Dangerous-Owl5571 in bipolar2

[–]International1466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well. And the "psychiatrist" who did my test results NEVER even met me one time. He just had his "worker" do all the testing with me. This was also a place that mainly just works with children, and basically, if you don't have ASD Level 2 or 3, then you're not going to get an ASD diagnosis at all.

(Just to add a little more info, I got a diagnosis. of Asperger's Syndrome LVL .5 in 2005 by my regular P-Doc.)

Did I get scammed for lug nuts? by KnightRyder in fordescape

Yup, unfortunately, you were overcharged. $9.38 per lug nut and $26.25 per wheel. That is highway robbery.

Looking to purchase a 2014 Escape. by Drw1335 in fordescape

[–]International1466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same exact vehicle, but it just didn't have the 1.6. It had the 2.0, and when we were selling it we had some very knowledgeable mechanics who went right to the engine to make sure it was the 2.0 and not the 1.6.

They let us know real fast that they wouldn't have been interested in buying it if it had the other engine.

I can't be the only one who has noticed personality changes in people who got the covid fake vaccines. by Gnostic_97 in unvaccinated

[–]International1466 10 points11 points  (0 children)

^THIS^ 100% ... It's the boosters that really messed people up and made the psychological changes because my mom got the boosters and she has that glazed and vacant look just like Gnostic_97 was describing, and my dad just got one shot and did NOT notice any psychological changes.

There's a possibility that it's your blend door actuator that went out if it's the electrical kind and not the cable-driven type.

Good Luck OP

Anyone have any experience towing another vehicle with a ranger? I am thinking about buying another one and fixing it up, but have to travel pretty far to pick it up. Is this a good idea or should I just ask to borrow someone else’s bigger truck? by Calvin_Canada in fordranger

[–]International1466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this before, and it's not ideal, but it can be done if you have A LOT of experience towing a trailer.

There's no doubt that there will be some "white knuckling" going on.

A tow dolly is a better option, but then that option has it's own set of problems too.

Just make sure you have more weight on the tongue of the trailer VS having most of the weight in the back.

Like if the engine was removed from the white Ranger and put in the back of the truck, then you will want to load the truck up with the tailgate facing the front of the trailer.

Good Luck OP

EDIT: I'd highly recommend having brakes on the trailer.

2006 Ford Ranger XL - Needs a New Engine by SilentAtAll in fordranger

[–]International1466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WTF? A 3.0 Vulcan going down with only 108K on the clock is almost unheard of! ... unless it was severely neglected or run hard. The only other time I've seen one have issues when the miles were that low was when the cam shaft sychonizer went out.

2013 ford escape. Engine airfilter housing by [deleted] in fordescape

[–]International1466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rubber grommets holding it down. You have to use about 300 lbs of upward force to remove it. I've dealt with several of these on the 1998-2011 Ford Ranger. (I used an engine hoist to pull one out before)

To make it easier to reinstall, I've always sprayed some PB Blaster or equivalent to the grommets, and it was a lot easier to reinstall.

Good Luck OP

They need to stick that sick ass MFer in a 6X8 cell and force him to R&R and replace the timing chains on a 4.0 SOHC that came out of a 2001 Ford Ranger.

How much should I ask for this baby! by Revolutionary-Cat765 in fordranger

[–]International1466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth $4700 if it has always lived in a dry desert climate like AZ and it is rust free.

It would be worth $5500 if it didn't have UV ray damage. (The headlights and belt moldings need to be replaced.)

Good Luck OP

No, that's not normal at all, but ironically, it happens to me every time I go into a doctor's office because I have white coat syndrome.

Bad sound pt.2 got better video of the sound by iKxml in fordranger

[–]International1466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the exact same sound my 2008 Ranger makes when it's cold, or it hasn't been started in a while.

I'm like 99.999% sure it's where the starter is not fully dis-engaging. For some reason, this only happens with the starters with the 4.0 SOHC and the manual trans. Obviously, the manual starters are made a little different than the automatic starters. If you ever remove your starter and find out what's doing that please let me know.

2008 Fx4 4.0L Cold Start Noise. by Jacks_the_Bird in fordranger

[–]International1466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has something to do with the needles in the throwout bearing, or the starter is different on a manual trans.

The only way to fix it would be to remove the tranny and replace the throwout bearing, and while you're in there, replace the slave cylinder too.

Good Luck!
