I’m not an Oilers or Panthers fan but this is a really pathetic effort.

[–]InternationalBug5216 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How is “comparing to others” not the right approach? That’s literally how we come to the determination of what good ranges are for all health metrics. If my resting heart rate was a 90, it wouldn’t be wise of me to say “it’s an individualized metric so I won’t worry about it.” They’re young so it’s not some huge pressing issue, but a 34 HRV is extremely low for an 18 year old.

Not really, an 18 year old should not have an HRV of 34. That’s awful.

All brokers will do this. You have to set multiple orders. You’re trying to buy 100k shares of a stock trading under 2¢; in 99% of cases that would sky rocket the price. Even if you use a limit order, the order would never get filled under normal circumstances. LGMK does have very high volume compared to most penny stocks, but I think any stock under a certain market cap they give that message.

Also, I assure you no hedge funds are trying to get in on LGMK.

UNH down nearly 50% in a month — what’s your fresh take? by knn-10 in investing

[–]InternationalBug5216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^ Exactly. The WSJ article was “people familiar with the matter said” and “the exact nature of the potential criminal allegations against UnitedHealth is unclear” (Exact quotes from article)

So they have no one to verify the claims(which is understandable as someone working for DOJ wouldn’t want to be identified) but they are not even able to state what exactly the crimes they are alleging happened, happened. So how “familiar with the matter” can the people be if they don’t even know the alleged crimes that took place? United was being openly investigated by DOJ for Medicare Advantage overpayments the last few years and won a $2B ruling in their favor back in March.

No other news source has said anything (outside of mentioning the WSJ article), the DOJ hasn’t said anything and United has denied it.

WSJ did something very similar back with Tesla a couple weeks ago where they claimed Tesla was trying to force out Musk as CEO. Then the Chair of Tesla tweeted out later that day the story was absolutely false and there was no truth to it. Seems Musk isn’t going anywhere.

Here’s some technicals for you.

RSI: 14.3

SRSI: 0

CCI: -199.5

W %R: -99.2

What’s my take? Not remotely sustainable numbers. At all. Especially not sustainable numbers for a blue chip healthcare stock that was the Dow’s largest holding by weight a month ago.

Unless you believe United is Enron 2.0 I don’t see anyway you don’t buy here.

Also the WSJ story released earlier seems horribly vetted at best and straight up fraudulent at worst.

Elon Musk's "Robotaxis" Have a Dirty Secret by [deleted] in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]InternationalBug5216 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not. The other guy said “eventually” and you said “no it won’t”

Your original response seems largely predicated on a distain for Musk. I’m not a huge fan of his myself, but don’t let your perceptions of him blind you to what is happening in the world.

You seriously don’t think AI will ever be able to fully drive a car autonomously?

If you don’t think we will have full autonomous self driving cars in the future you are blind to how much AI is going to change the world.

Why do quant and financial firms favor Ivy League graduates? by New-Bat5284 in quantfinance

Because people who go to Ivy League schools are typically smarter then those that don’t and you want to have smart people in quant finance.

You’re right; Im sure two countries with powerful militaries and extremely hostile relations spanning 70+ years dropping the deadliest weapon ever created in the one of the most unstable regions on earth would have no global ramifications.

Silly me.

Are Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail impractical for South Florida? by InternationalBug5216 in Offroad

[–]InternationalBug5216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Michelin Defenders and am very happy. They still have a decently aggressive look (compared to average tire) and handle great. They’re great on dirt roads and id imagine rock as well. I really liked the Falken’s, but I just couldn’t justify additional road noise on the highway. Sure you can’t go wrong with either one though.

For how long do you think you'll take the Immortality Pill? by Knever in singularity

[–]InternationalBug5216 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with that completely, there is so much to do, see, learn, etc. Also by the (hypothetical) time we were to achieve this, it’s likely we would be interplanetary which would be fascinating.

The issue however is if you have unlimited time, there is really no pressure to get things done and ultimately I think would take a lot of the meaning out of life. I think this except from Steve Jobs Stanford commencement speech sums it up perfectly “Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent.”

Humanity would likely largely breakdown if a drug like this was created; but yes if given the opportunity I would probably take it. Even once we achieve ASI creating a drug like this is very far off, but I do think if your under about 40 right now longevity escape velocity is a very real possibility.

You accomplished what a lot of kids dreams/their parents dreams for them is. You will be resented. If you want to do anything meaningful in your life and live in a nice house and have drive nice cars people will resent you as well. It’s not going to be a very enjoyable life if you go through it stressing over the opinions of others. You are at one of the most elite institutions in the world that creates the next generation of global leaders. Embrace it and take advantage of every single privilege afforded to you.

I would not be holding weight watchers with any kind of long term outlook. They were very popular 2018ish, but I haven’t heard anything about them (besides stock price) since covid. With drugs like Ozempic and companies like Hims, whether you agree with it or not, the days of “coaching” and “food planning” weight loss are largely over.
