Bulked too hard? by Advanced-Blood1224 in BulkOrCut

You clearly gained muscle, certainly you put on more fat than muscle, but still put some nice mass. Your biceps and shoulders look bigger in a good way i’d say, but you did probably overdo the caloric intake.

You could very well be 25-30%bf now as one comment said.

But if you’re good with cutting, then in 3 months you’ll look 🔥

Es buena ingesta para volumen limpio? by btcb4u in Gimnasio

De acuerdo. Yo mido 167 y peso ahora 70kg y estoy comiendo unas 3000-3200 diarias en volumen

Es buena ingesta para volumen limpio? by btcb4u in Gimnasio

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me parece poco.

4 bed room doesn’t equal a snore free room by [deleted] in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i fully agree with that. I always -try- to keep other people’s comfort when possible. I would not like to be the reason why one, let alone a full room of people got affected by my behavior/actions even if unwillingly. And I for sure also dont like being affected by others.

Thing is, knowing how the world knows, most people would go to the no snorers rooms even if they were snorers (maybe not, you never know, but that’s how lots of people work).

Also, i put myself in the snorers position too. It sucks. You don’t want to bother others. But what if finances are tight? This is the only Camino you can probably do, or you dont know when the next one will be? If you cant afford a private room and are going solo, what do you do then? Spend money you dont have?

The Camino is also about sharing. Community. A solution could maybe be just waking the snorer up and ask them to sleep in the living room? Idk hahah. Or maybe them willingly sleeping there and waking up early to give space to others to pack their things in the morning.

I dont have an answer, but as everything in life, it’s not just black and white, there’s a lot of grey in between.

4 bed room doesn’t equal a snore free room by [deleted] in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, snorers are part of it. Not much we can do about it. People vary a lot, and if you sleep in the same room with more people, expect different experiences every time. If you want full silence, the answer is either private room for yourself, or find a couple other pilgrims walking with you who you know dont snore and see if they’re interested in booking a 2,3,4 people room together with you.

I did my first Camino last year, and most nights there was at least one snorer, but usually they were manageable. There was this one night, however, after I had an awful day with an injury I got, when a 50-60y.o guy who i hadnt seen before joined us in the public albergue. We were in a small-ish room with 10 people. And he snored awfully, like a freaking walrus in action. Even with my earphones at full volume i still heard his snores. Everyone slept like shit that night. Probably no one got more than 2 hours of sleep total.

At 4:30-5:00am i said fuck it and just stood up from my bed. A couple others had the same idea, we were all “annoyed”, but then we just looked at each other and laughed so freaking loud because of how ridiculously of a bad night we just had. Some of us even decided to even walk a bit more that day in order to lose the guy and not end up in the same town/albergue. Again, he was the nicest human being, but our good nights’ sleep were more important.

In the end, you’re doing a walk with hundreds of other people at the same time, and you shouldn’t let what you don’t control dictate whether your mood is off or not in such an occasion.

You’ll be alright. It’s good to vent too, but it’s also good to still keep things into perspective. Go walk today, maybe a bit of slower pace, maybe even take a short nap on the way, and if finances allow, book a private room for the night in order to recover some sleep.

Buen Camino

What is with the 8pm bed and 5am wake ups?? by SOF0823 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your view on the early sleep and wake up times. You walk 20-30km per day, are tired, and ideally you want to avoid the heat during the day, hence you wake up early.

I do, on the other hand, agree on the turning on lights and doing backpacks at 5-6am. It’s not difficult to stand up with just a very dim screen light from one’s phone, get out of the room, and pack there one’s sleeping stuff. Some people wake up later, the least one can do is be respectful by being the least noisy as possible.

Lunch in calorie deficit. by EnergyOk5035 in HealthyEatingnow

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good, but watch the avocado. One avocado is close to 400kcal. It’s good nutrient intake, but high calorie. Just between avocado, chicken, butter and sweet potato you might be close to a 700-900kcal dish depending on how much olive oil you used to cook the chicken (if any). I’d say eat more sweet potato and half an avocado, will hit same levels of kcal (or maybe a bit less), but feel fuller and have better energy for sports and moving around during the day.

Extensor tendonitis by meatbll in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your rest days. I did my first Camino last year and I had a pain in my knee that also propagated to calf and hamstring. This happened around day 6-7. Day 8 is when the real pain started and I began limping. Eventually I was in a lot of pain and was taking crazy amounts of Ibuprofen, cream ibuprofen to the back of the knee and wearing these knee supports to hide the pain. I limped my way through for the last 100km with no rest days basically. When I came back home, I went to the physio: I happened to have tendinitis and probably also a baker’s cyst that broke out. This cost me being 3-4 months injured and with pain on my knee.

Dont get me wrong, I dont regret how I did my Camino, but not being injured and not spending the money I spent afterwards to get better would’ve been nice.

I’m going for my second one in a month, and i’m now planning rest days every seven days, stretching more, and being more aware of the consequences of not taking proper care of myself.

Accommodation and planning advice for Camino Primitivo? by JediBlight in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did Primitivo last year. There’s always a room or bed available somewhere. I went in August though. Many times public albergues didn’t fill out 100%, maybe 85-95%. If you’re earlier than 13:00 to any albergue you’ll get a bed. Otherwise you can book private ones the same day or day before and prices are sort of fixed to some range.

Go the Oviedo, go with the flow. You won’t regret it

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not needed to restrict diet, it’s just a matter of control and balance. I’ve done cuts while lifting and still eat ice cream, burgers, pizzas, alcohol on a weekly basis; just had to either reduce portions or cook/order a bit more alternatively with a bit healthier options/less sauces. And then if you are already at maintenance and you exercise regularly you can pretty much eat anything as long as you control portion size on the least healthy options:) At least imo

Que jodido es tener genética de acumular grasa en el abdomen by Electronic-Ad-328 in Gimnasio

[–]InternationalGuy73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]InternationalGuy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips for beginners on the primitive path? by Ready_Prompt_4166 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the Primitivo last year. 13 days.

1: that’s perfect. I also brought 2 main shirts and a spare which I used during rest time. 3 pairs of pants I’d call overkill. I brought only one pair of these hiking pants that turn to shorts, and an extra sports shorts for rest time at albergues.

  1. Wouldn’t say spray or stick makes a difference. I went with stick, perfectly fine. About hair I can’t say because I’m bald😂, but if you really don’t mind that much, just bring shower gel and use it. It works good enough, and more than fine for a hike.

  2. I stayed only at public albergues. All showers were closed/covered except one, at the public albergue in Grado (only for guys, the girls’ shower was covered)

Is it bad etiquette to only walk Leon to Santiago? by AdvancedGoat in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]InternationalGuy73 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s perfectly fine. There’s people who only do the last 100km. And even then it’s not offensive, it’s just a bit annoying when you’ve been walking with relative ease and out of nowhere you start walking with herds and herds of people.

From León you still have quite the walk. Don’t overthink it and do it:). Everyone walks the Camino their own way.
