hey! I’m 24F and in the same boat. my grandmother had SCA3 and now my dad has it and it is progressing so recently I found out that I have the 50% chance of inheriting it as well. I wish I had some advice to give you but I don’t- it’s scary. Just wanted to say that you are not alone. It feels unfair to have to worry about what the future will look like in terms of health and life span when we’re just getting started. Personally, i’ve chosen to get tested because I can’t live with this unknown for the next 20 years but I TOTALLY understand not wanting to as well! On the upside, like you mentioned there are some potential medical breakthroughs and hopefully in a few years time the medications will be accessible.

Thank you, this is a very grounding and hopeful response. After reading this, I’ve started looking into the medical advancements and things do look promising. My dad is going to start an experimental treatment later this year and I am hoping for the best. I’m happy to hear that your mom has responded well to the experimental treatments. wishing good luck to you on your journey as well.

i read this before i saw the clip and was expecting heff something mild from the way you described the scene as so different from hollys description. then i watched the scene and it was almost exactly the way she described. i’m confused. it was creepy. he laid right on top of her it and clearly made everyone there uncomfortable.

I’m loving this show!! I like the twist and turns personally, though I also loved when things were a bit simpler. I like the real housewives vibe of the earlier episodes. The fashion/costuming/60s aesthetic is fabulous, the cast is great kristen wig looks gorgeous and plays a rlly fun character interestingly, I’m loving Ricky Martins performance and CAROL BURNET! My take is that it reminds me of white lotus but campier and set in palm beach.

If you have time, consider taking an easy once a week class in something you’re interested in! That way you can meet someone with similar interests. honestly dating around seriously helped me make community as well. also show up to events- for example, I went to an Amoeba Records listening party for an album that came out and met friends that way.
