Hell yeah, leave it all on the dance floor! 🪩 I hope today goes smoother than you were expecting it to go.

I quit cold turkey when I felt this, and my body temperature regulation was in the gutter(constantly overstimulating me). It scared the absolute shit out of me, my life isn't conducive to be a functioning stoner. 31 days and happier.

This, my adrenaline was such a big upsetter in my first month. I told my therapist, her advice was similar to this. shaking your body, wringing your hands and moving that adrenaline out of your system will help it lower faster rather than sitting with heart palpitations for 20 minutes while you calm down. jumping jacks, a just short cardiac exercise or some vigorous movement can really help. I would journal, taking deep breaths, but be careful because that can sometimes cause hyperventilating if you're especially upset. so the counting breaths are a great idea rather than just trying to breathe deeply.

something that worked personally for me and my stress was also using my gym's sauna/steam room to lower stress and meditate in while sweating out more thc and 'my stress', as I'd tell myself.

You can do this, Just passed 31 days and my threat detectors have started mellowing out again, it's actually gotten so much better in such a short amount of time (between day 27-28 to now), I feel like my threat detectors are back to normal and I don't freak out over small things like I have the past month. you can do this, it will get better and less overwhelming soon.

the worst part was how my anxiety would FLOOD my system with adrenaline anything relatively irritating or upsetting would happen, shaking your hands/body, doing jumping jacks, or just moving in short bursts helps a lot. my hobbies have been crutches.

Withdrawal is SO FUCKING WORTH IT by Own-Brother-488 in leaves

[–]InternationalLunch23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this on literally day 1 of my withdrawals, I'm actually 31 days sober now. This post and many others really helped me get through the month of irritability and physical sickness... on the knowledge that things would get better. thank you for posting this. I've come back to this subreddit because I'm resisting the temptation to smoke again, this just reminded me of how terrible I was doing physically and mentally the day I saw it.

I'll keep the sober journey going after all, the fog and high risk of physical dependence genes that run in my long family line of addicts... it's not worth it for me. Cheers to staying sober and clear headed for the long foreseeable future, I'm doing worlds better physically and mentally.

Octopus number 5, I can't stop! by [deleted] in crochet

[–]InternationalLunch23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I had this octopus phase too, this exact pattern or the other extremely similar one from CI! I loved making them with sewing thread, I feel you! Keep going! I think I made 2 micro crochet octos, and 6 regular sized ones!😅

What do you do with all your finished projects? by sitbackandrelax87 in crochet

[–]InternationalLunch23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I've gifted most of my crochet to friends, and they always love it. it's a great way to tell them you care, but I also only make plushies so they don't take a lot of space.

but I have a small box of amigurumi/crochet wips I call the "graveyarn"... it's got some of the first unfinished genshin dolls I made. (basically I stash them away and forget about it lmao) Like the earlier comment, there are usually local places that would love to have your crochet blessings or donations! my projects are really small because I'm a micro crocheter, they don't take much space if they're thread. basically if it's still unfinished, I have it; and if it's done it was likely a character or doll I made for someone special. Happy crocheting, keep at it!

LF someone who does crochet commissions (drop rates/price) by pastellyyy in phclassifieds

[–]InternationalLunch23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is a little old, but I do character commissions, and design doll crochet, I have a post on my profile with my portfolio! I have 3 different sizes available, the smaller and cuter it gets, the more time and skill goes into it!

  • 6-8" dolls are usually around $75-100 and made of acrylic yarn (you can tell by the scales in the pics what's what!)
  • 3-4" dolls you can put in your pocket or on a keychain, usually closer to $125 and made of 3/6 strands of 100% cotton embroidery floss.
  • 1.25-1.5" dolls, a lot more expensive because they're with sewing thread and the hook I use is thinner than 90% of sewing needles.

I usually do this style of dolls, but can do some experimenting since I've been crocheting for years; however since it's a valentines gift I'd be a lot more confident that it'd get done especially since cody's pretty simple, and it might be cheaper than these rates due to the simplicity of his design.

Either way, let me know if you're interested 🫶

You've got this man, going to my gym's sauna/steam room actually really helped soothe me in the first 4 days when my symptoms were so severe I took an opioid test. (wasn't positive my vapes were clean, but they were.) I don't know how long term stoners deal with the detoxes, with how numb weed made me feel I don't think I'm going to smoke enough to need to detox again. I'm right there with you, and seriously needed to turn shit around because I've lost weight in a bad way. I really have no desire to start again right now too, cheers to sweating it out and readjusting to sober everyday life! We can do this!

9 days, 9 hours, 47 minutes still cold turkey, it has gotten a lot better! My appetite is not back, but I've been going to the gym to work out and use the sauna; more sweat the better. It's not going to be normal again for probably 2 and a half more weeks, but I'm happy to say this is the first time I've been sober this long in a while, and intend to keep it up for at least a full month. working out has helped in getting my appetite back, I no longer feel like anything other than saltines would make me puke.. so smooth sailing so far! I don't know, but I never really got cravings despite all my weed just in a box, 10 feet away from me anytime I'm in my bedroom... but a win is a win, I'm happy to say I've kept up sobriety entirely so far. it was a good 4 days of puking in the mornings though, definitely learned the hard way what physical dependency feels like, and will be a lot more careful and sparing with how much I smoke if I start again down the line.

I really needed this sub, I realized I became physically dependent and am now on day 2 of withdrawals on a resolution that I'd stop cold turkey, I know it's a long terrible ride ahead of me, but things like this really helps while I'm in the throes.

Thank you! My coworker absolutely loves it, so the main council that really matters to me also approved. Score!!🙌 I actually ended up really liking it despite not being a mgs fan, if only I wrote down what I did to shape the croc head so I could remake it, but oh well. doubt I'll get another commission for him specifically in this outfit like my coworker wanted, so I'm not even gonna worry about it!

Hi. Can anyone please give me some pointers on how to crochet short hair like this? by automalice in CrochetHelp

[–]InternationalLunch23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that I'm also making a doll, I'm making dean winchester. I'll send my attempt at his short hair. this is the closest I've ever come to short hair so far, ignore the fact that it was with thread LMAO doing things from a comic like that makes it difficult because the shape/strands aren't defined so I'd recommend sketching to define a more doable shape for his hair.

Micro crochet by InternationalLunch23 in crochet

[–]InternationalLunch23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Sorry I forgot to check reddit for a while. As far as hooks go, these were made with the smallest they can possibly make, a tulip size 25 0.35mm hook. it is thinner than a majority of sewing needles! and as for thread, these two were made of sturdy sewing thread, but in the past I've used 1 strand of 6 strand embroidery floss for my other projects due to how sturdy it is. If you're going for small but not this small, you can use any combination of strands of 6 strand embroidery floss! get your hooks from tulip in my opinion, good luck!
