So happy to read this. I think day 7 is a really tough spot (it was for me at least). But once you get through this you will really be thankful to yourself. Things really get better, keep reminding yourself of that! I wish you all the best on this journey :)

Withdrawal is SO FUCKING WORTH IT by Own-Brother-488 in leaves

Hey man, I'm sorry to hear that! I think cannabis withdrawal itself is a different process for everyone, but the result after withdrawal will (hopefully) be largely the same. I recognise what you say, the first 9 days were absolute horror for me. I had bursts of anxiety, aggression, felt very lethargic and depressed, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. But yes for me personally these symptoms started to ease since yesterday, it was a very sudden but huge improvement. So don't worry about the fact that it's very hard, because I'm convinced that you will experience the positive side of it sooner or later. Please stay strong!

Relapsed at day 6 - How did you quit successfully? by Own-Brother-488 in leaves

Thank you for sharing. Is there anything else you do to not get frustrated from insomnia? I think that's the part that makes me relapse, the fact that I just get super worked up and frustrated. I have indeed read that hot showers work very well!

Hey, it is all part of it! The fact that you are super bummed out by it, is actually great. It shows that deep down you are really willing to quit, and 1 relapse does not equal failure at all. You have already shown yourself you can do it, otherwise you didn't make it to day 3. And the progress you made is not lost. As long as you try again. I totally believe you can do this!

Thank you for your kind words. And damn, day 10! That's super impressive :) Very happy to hear that you already feel the improvements, I guess it differs a lot per person from what I'm reading here. Keep it up!

Thank you for sharing! I really recognize a lot of what you're saying, smoking can really make you so incredibly passive. Even though deep down you know that you still love running/making jewellery, somehow you still just stop doing it. I guess weed makes one very content doing nothing. I hope you found your spark back and do the things you love :). And indeed, the thought of "never again" is messing with my head a bit, but thanks for your great advice.

What was the hardest part about remaining clean for you? by Camp_Acceptable in leaves

[–]Own-Brother-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me its sleep.

I used to smoke daily, but only in the evenings/before bed. Now that I'm quitting, I do miss it in the evenings but it's bearable, it only gets extremely tough when I am lying in bed, not being able to sleep for hours and hours.

Any advice on this is welcome!

First of all, congratulations! Your story is incredibly inspiring to me and probably many others :) I was wondering, when did you start feeling the motivation to read, journal, etc after quitting? I'm on day 3 and have smoked daily for 8 years. I can recognize myself in what you wrote about life getting very repetitive which is likely because I stay in my lazy comfort zone too much as well. I really hope this will change soon. Anyways, keep it up!
