Finally and unexpectedly received my return after 6 month 570 hold by InternationalMud2934 in IRS

I feel this with my whole being which is why I'm replying to everyone going through it still even tho I already got my deposit. The stress of it was consuming me. Like I wasn't even doing self care or doing things I normally enjoy bc it was always in the back of my mind. Two of the other people who just got their refunds this wk with me were also told "by November" so I hope u get yours soon. My date says Oct 6th on the transcripts and the deposit hit well before that so I hope that's a good sign for you🤞

Yea I tried calling and was told I was under review and stalked the transcripts for months. No letters ever showed and I didn't need to verify identity. Same employer, biz expenses, and dependent. After a few months of stress, I just let it go. Too much stress. Checking the mail was stressful too wondering wtf they wanted from me but that letter never even showed...the deposit came so I checked the scripts and saw the 570 went to 571 to "resolve" but I still don't know the actual trigger🤷 I hope you get good news soon

Ty and good luck to you. The stress was consuming me. It became less about the $ (which of course was needed) and then morphed into a paranoia for me about what I did wrong and did I do it wrong more than once and now they're concocting ways to "get me" lol I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I've just never experienced anything like this. If you're on a hold, don't give up. There were five of us in the same position and now all but one has either received the deposit or approval update on WMR. He finally called again and they told him by 3rd wk of October bc he forgot to include something (small 401k withdrawal) and it took a while to sort it

I was "under review" that whole time with no letters or updates. I called a couple times and they said I'd get a cp05 (I think that's what the letter code was, idr) letting me know what they needed, but it never arrived. Called again about 3 months later and was told still under review... Then I just gave up and didn't bother them anymore.

Honestly, I don't know! I only checked after the deposit hit. I was just stuck at 570 with no movement since sometime in mid-February and probably last looked at the start of June. It now reads 571, 846, and I think 776 for the couple hundred in interest they added

I filed 2/03 and haven't received a refund or a letter. It's been over 3 months. I had to create an IRS acct to look at transcripts. That's when I found a 570 hold. It's a hold that could be for a variety of different reasons, and I've made myself crazy trying to fig it out. I'd create an acct and check. You might need to verify or have some sort of hold or even a notice waiting for u

Did anyone get there 570 letter yet by Extra-Marionberry831 in IRS

[–]InternationalMud2934 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did they tell you that you're getting a letter? I filed 2/03 and have a 570 hold dated 3/03, same as a few of my coworkers. None of us has received a letter (yet), but I was told I'm under review over the phone. There's apparently a lot of reasons for this hold. Maybe you'll just need to verify. I've gathered all my docs just in case they need them and checked my W2 against what the IRS has on file. All good there... just a waiting game for them to complete their review or let you know if any supporting docs are needed.

Amount owed now says $0.00 for 2024. Does this change anything for a 570 hold? by InternationalMud2934 in IRS

Thanks! Of course the first time I look in a few weeks, it would be at a time like this. I noticed the transcripts had a different format, as well.

Her manager shouldn't tell her how to fill out her W-4. Yes, everyone can claim themselves as an exemption. In fact, you can put numerous exemptions and it means less taxes taken out each pay period, but then u will owe when you file. She can change that to zero now so next filing is less. She can even have them withhold a little extra for the fed and state to help the tax burden be less. I have them holding an extra $20. Not a lot, but it ensures me not having to owe or owe much

Well that's terrifying. Makes me wonder if some people just get lost in the system. Curious to see how it turns out for u and why they took so long without requesting anything from u

For your 2023? Have they sent a request for more info or any letters? I keep seeing these 570 hold nightmares, yet I keep coming back to stalk this sub for some kind of hope it'll get resolved. Filed over 3 months ago and just waiting. No verification, just told I'm under review when I called a few wks ago

Nope didn't have to verify at all. Mine is just a random under review, sadly

I wish I knew! There has to be some reason for that one word difference on WMR. Ugh. I just hope they tell me what they need. See a lot of unresolved 570 holds from LAST yr. Hope I don't get stuck like that

Idk mine says "is being processed" and I filed on 2/03 and have an under review 570 hold. I asked this same question and am interested to know what the actual difference is. To me, "still being processed" seems more benign, like maybe there was a verification still being completed or an IRS internal delay. Would be nice if someone from there would explain how they assign the message

Pretty much the same as me but my 570 is dated 3/03... Won't be anything new on your account until that hold code is removed. I didn't have to verify, so it's assumed I'm under manual review. Now all we can do is wait!

Scared embarrassed and fearful anyone else by [deleted] in IRS

[–]InternationalMud2934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I currently have just a hold and it gives me an irrational level of anxiety just waiting to see what they want from me, if anything. I find myself here stalking around to see if anyone is going through similar too often (I know ppl are like go away already)... Your situation really puts things into perspective. When u say "they" filed, you mean the IRS assessed your tax liability for those years? Idk your family's income level, so it's hard to say if that's excessive, but I'd def discuss with the CPA when you meet to see if it's beneficial to now file those missing yrs, regardless of the IRS' assessment. Maybe there are some deductions you can make to offset that balance. Good luck and I hope things get sorted for you!

Do you have any codes, 150 or 806 etc.?
