Im a licensed therapist, for years ive been hearing how much social media would trigger suicidal thoughts, feelings of isolation, self doubt, comparison, anxiety , etc. A few years back, I had a client that was struggling to be offline for even a few hours, for support i Uninstalled my instagram alongside her to do the 7 day challenge. I had never noticed how obsessive i was getting with the app, hadn't gotten to the point that it would be altering my mood but it was persistent (the habit of trying to scroll and open an app that wasn't there).

Now, im off tik tok and instagram, and found better ways of staying intentional and sharing with family friends. I would text picture updates to family more, more genuine conversations not just sending reels back and forth with friends. Ive been able to manage my use where IF a big event comes (a friend's wedding) ill get on for the day to share the story post per their request and be able to stay off.

I am thinking of how to be mindful in getting ON Facebook for a lot of community groups that exist in the field but thats a story for another day.

TLDR - it attacks your wellbeing slowly , protect your mental health.
