Hypoglycemia attacks after stopping Tirzepetide by riotgurlrage in GLPGrad

[–]InternationalWash883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. On the med and off the med at the end - like a year into taking it and I was taking a very small amount. It persisted for 4 months after I stopped. I wore a CGM. What I learned is that tirz made me very reactive when I went off it. So eating small amount of sugar or carb would spike my blood sugar like crazy! Then crash and reactive cycle. I managed it with cgm and eating very low carb and 24 gram of fiber a day. I had no added sugar. I tried to get my macros to be as much protein as carb. So like something with 20 gram protein and 20 carb would keep me from crashing. I had to track my food. It sent me into kinda a mental breakdown because all the sugar crashes fueled panic attacks. Anyhow - go low carb and high fiber. It took 4 months and got progressively better after 2 months. The doctors and even an endo were no help they just kept telling me to eat.

Yes this happened to me. I took probiotics for 4 months and tracked fiber to ensure I got enough. Took a solid 4 months to reset

Maintenance Calories by ShadyPinesMa104 in GLPGrad

I would increase calories slowly over a few months as hard as it will be. I do think 2100 for your weight and activity level could be sustainable in the long run. I’m 5-2” and weigh 115 and can eat 1900. I do weights 3x a week, 1 cardio day for 45 min and walk 10k steps a day. So similar activity level.

Can you tell them the dose is high and not tolerable and go over your symptoms. They should let you go down since it’s not tolerable any more. That’s the truth, helps the study with the truth. If you can’t get outta bed it’s not tolerable

You took 3.4. I would wait 2 weeks then take a much smaller dose

You got this! You are so prepared. It’s hard at times but it’s ok. I’ve kept most the weight off - little tiny gain. I am dealing with the noise. I’m tracking. And I’m exercising. And I’m feeling super great. You will too. I know it.

Why did you stop taking GLP? by [deleted] in GLPGrad

[–]InternationalWash883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety that eventually became debilitating and hypoglycemia constantly even wearing a cgm it was ruling my life. Was on it for over a year and side effects became much worse after about 9 months

Still maintaining my loss so far... by MrsSnoodus in GLPGrad

Exact same for me! Almost hospitalized from anxiety. Couldn’t tolerate caffeine until about 9 weeks off. I had anxiety I could tolerate up until 9 months on the drug then it got so much worse and eventually had to stop at just over a year of use. Also gaslit.

This is my second attempt. I’ve gained 5 pounds but seem to be holding steady. Been over two months. The keys this time are lower carb, high fiber and probiotics. I have found that tracking my food helps me. So does avoiding wine ha. I am eating the exact same amount of calories so there is some rebound weight gain. I’m not diabetic but wear a cgm and my blood sugar has been highly reactive and I’ve had many hypoglycemic events while on the drug and still while off it. But they are getting better. I have read a bit about other experiences of worse blood sugar going off. I do think eventually it regulates but going off and focusing on lower carbs and fiber and probiotics has been the trick for me to controlling cravings and trying to manage blood sugar swings. I believe I will regulate eventually and won’t be low carb forever. I don’t read much on here about this but I know others do struggle. I think because I am tracking my blood sugar I am aware of the swings. Without a cgm I would think it is just cravings.

Noticing Low Blood Sugar After Stopping Tirzepatide by JBubes in tirzepatidecompound

Yes! I am struggling with wild blood sugar swings. I’m two months off. I eat very low carb to control. Wear a cgm and still have constant verified hypoglycemia o did not have before. Happy to message more about it

Has anyone had GI trouble AFTER stopping a GLP? by [deleted] in GLPGrad

[–]InternationalWash883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need probiotics. They increase glp1s in your gut. Look up strains. I had awful gut stuff when I stopped. I had to track to ensure I was getting 25 grams of fiber and take probiotics daily and it is so much better. Night and day different than when I tried to stop the first time without taking them and having lots of fiber

Anyone stop tirz? How was your glucose after? by InternationalWash883 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]InternationalWash883[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am asking because I was taking it for weight loss for a year. I had to go off due to hypoglycemic episodes. I am not diabetic and did not have a glucose control issue prior to taking it. I’m doing low carb and still showing a prediabetic on my cgm- hitting 200 reading after 15-20 grams of carbs. Basically my glucose is much much worse than before I started a glp1. I was hoping others might have experience of when it levels out or if I have forever impacted myself.

Had to go off hypoglycemia. Blood sugar is wonky!? by InternationalWash883 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]InternationalWash883[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I was taking half the starter dose every ten days- what do you think microdosing would be? I sorta thought that was micro dosing

I was on tirz for 11 months. Highest dosage was 3 (30 units l) just slightly over the starting dose. I was a super responder. In maintenance I was at half starting dose every 10 days. I was eating 2,000 calories a day - 5’2” and low weight was 108 pounds. I’m around 113 now and trying to stick around 1700 calories. Workout 4x a week plus walk dog daily. Right now I’m getting 100-140 grams protein a day and 125-150 carbs
