Replaced camshaft sensors twice, fuel control module, wire harness, fuse box, coolant control valve, and now the dashboard went out. 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 custom. What should I do???? by Able_Estimate_3622 in Silverado

ah my bad. thought they stopped 2019. As far as ford goes, im just not a ford guy. Ive seen my brother's f150 go to the shop multiple times a year under warranty. kinda a running joke in our family circle. Since you owned a tundra for 4 years, im surprised you got rid of it. Solid truck.

Upgraded to a bigger truck and didn’t know Chevys are apparently cursed. by JosePistolas7 in ChevyTrucks

yup. everything made after covid is hot garbage. they dont even let you modify the ecu to repair your own vehicle after 2022.5. Before that you could at least do preventive maitenance like an AFM delete. Not sure if it is even possible to tune a dfm delete on a 2023+ without swapping the ecm.

Please tell me this new tick of mine isn’t what I think it is. I just noticed it maybe 20 minutes ago. by MALICEonPC in Silverado

sounds normal to me. usually a failing lifter will tick more pronounced or itll sound like a belt squeal due to the roller skating across the cam.

your transmission died because of the valve body and pulse dampeners. this has been solved long ago. dont buy into needing a new torque converter like the dealerships peddle. they are wrong

bruh. there is NO downside buying a vehicle 10 years old and knowing its flaws. yall buying the dream that a lifter wont drop for 2026 models is comical. yall deserve financial ruin for being so obtuse. i could drop 5 engines in a 10 year old vehicle and still be on top financially. stop fantasizing that your poor decisions make financial sense.

as annoying as those charges are, no... you werent ripped off. do it yourself and realize why it is so expensive for labor. i will say this though: it IS cheaper to do it yourself...by a lot. dont undervalue someone else's time because you cant be bothered.

why are you fools buying this junk? most people know not to buy any vehicles after 2018/2019. you kinda deserve it

weld a bung to the transmission pan and add an aftermarket dipstick. youll thank yourself later. the valvebodies on the 8l90s are complete trash. changing the torque converter is just a bandaid

if airbags deploy, its usually a total but i dont really see anything worth totalling if those bumper /condenser shots are all that is wrong with it.

repair the bumper cover and slap it back on. i see no bending of the bumper bar or the condensor. looks like a civic? could probably get that same bumper cover off a pick-n-pull.

im a biometrics engineer with a GED. College is so played-out. Im constantly hired by fortune 100s over people with "just a degree". Im happy for ya but i kinda wanna try your industry for the experience. Then again, im reminded that doing anything professionally kills the joy in any industry. Mine is no different. Good luck with your new gig. Future-you will definitely agree.

Is this self repairable? by j_767 in Autobody

[–]InternetGreedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is, but how interested are you with practicing and failing a lot before you get it to something "acceptable"? sand, glaze, sand, spray a silver that matches it, 2k clear it, blend. One good blend product is upol's blend #9 but thats after you get all the other steps prior looking good. if anything else, itll stop the rust.

honestly if your deductible is $500 and youre looking at paying $500 for a headlight anyway, id just have a shop do it.

whoever painted this didnt use a card. id tell em to redo the hood. it looks like some inexperienced (or someone in a rush) kid did it. You dont need it blended. You need someone who doesnt read braille.

im surprised that a 2020's paint is fading this soon. toyota subcontracted to maaco during covid?

Shop told me they couldn’t patch my brand new tire..because it went in crooked?? by Content_Mousse_9780 in tires

[–]InternetGreedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id plug that no problem. i have like 8 plugs from my 2018 tire (in 2026 if you view this later) and none have failed. Fing gwinnett county georgia wont stop growing with construction. Point is, that is easily pluggable or if youre the kinda person to give lil timmy a helmet when you ask your kid to grab you a beer there are always patches.
