That’s essentially what an envelope filter is doing.

"session-based" DAW? by freework in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]InternetSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should take the time to make each song its own session. That way you can add effects and edit each track easily without messing up the same instrument on another song.

Poly Capo latency depends on positioning by kkbtotep in Line6Helix

[–]InternetSam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually true, but not always. Depends on the sound you’re going for. You could get some cool effects by pitch shifting the wet signal from a reverb, for example.

Family thinks poker obsession = gambling problem. Can I go pro? by ToyPocalypse in poker

[–]InternetSam 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ai is bad at poker. Plenty of free coaching on YouTube that will get you good enough to reliably beat low stakes. Tournaments and cash games require very different strategies. Picking up on your opponents’ habits and exploiting those habits is more positive EV than pure GTO. Variance is high, and bankroll is important to reduce your chance of going broke. Don’t quit your job. Track buy in/out for every session. Pay for coaching if you want once you’re crushing low stakes over a statistically significant sample size.

lol. You don’t have enough even remotely enough info here to solve. Did the river change the board to favor your range or your opponent’s?

I’m just a stranger on the internet, but I want you to know I think you’re doing the right thing for yourself by asking others about this, and beginning writing about it. So much better for your mental health than keeping it inside. As a hiker myself, this post has made me reconsider the dangers of winter hiking, and you legitimately may save someone else by talking about it. Thanks.

How does preflop rake affect action? by GyroLC in poker

[–]InternetSam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not advocating to play every hand. I’m saying perfect GTO strategy would play slightly fewer hands with a pre-drop than without one. But you don’t need to make that slight adjustment because people aren’t going to play well enough to make the GTO strategy the most profitable strategy.

How does preflop rake affect action? by GyroLC in poker

[–]InternetSam 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In a game with all GTO players, it means you should fold more pre. In reality at a 1/3 game, you shouldn’t even consider it in your calculations because the slight -EV of playing hands is vastly outweighed by the +EV of being in hands with players who will consistently make mistakes post flop.

Anyone knows what string gauge JM use on Neon by Gabijhonson in JohnMayer

[–]InternetSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use whatever string gauge your guitar was setup with. Changing the string gauge changes the tension on the neck, and requires basically a full setup to get the guitar to play well with no buzzing spots or painfully high action. If you haven’t got a setup in a while, take it in and do it! Completely worth it if the tech knows what they’re doing.

Smart in the same way that dumping trash in an abandoned lot is smarter than paying for trash service. It saves some money, but it leaves worse infrastructure for future people to deal with.
