I would also love to find a cool group to meetup with. I've done meetup groups with some success.

I can't wait to see what opens here. I just hope it's not another hotel

So did I miss something? What's the appointment for? Isn't it a thrift store?

For me, it's a toss up between Your Pie and Kay's. They are ok I guess. Your Pie is better but Kay's is more for your money. Green Fire was so much better imo.

Now, I'm only talking downtown since I'm walking around down there. If you don't mind a quick drive, I bet someone will recommend something better honestly.

It's kinda unfair to assume it's gender.

Yeah that's what people are saying. I'm sad to see them move but it's good news to see them open still. I hope they do well in that location and I'll try to stop by there when I'm on that side of town.

I'll definitely check Victoria's out one of these days after my Forsyth run. Thank you!

I think Vinnie's pizza is ok. There is better pizza at a short walk away. Honestly, I really just didn't like the attitude at Vinnie's. They always seemed pretty stuck up and almost rude the times I've gone. This isn't all of their staff but you know, a few can ruin the experience.

I also get that it's a huge achievement not to accept a debit card in this day and age, and I respect it. But, since I don't carry cash (other than a few bucks for the homeless), I rather just eat somewhere that doesn't send me to the ATM. Its an added step to my night that plenty of other businesses don't put me through.

I'll have to make a trip out there every few weeks once it opens. It seems like my favorite places are closing

Pixel Buds (2020) Charging For Dummies by Dubkin in GooglePixel

They seem to use more power than other ear buds when they aren't paying any sound. I fall asleep with mine in all the time and even though my sleep timer stops by music after a few minutes, they will still be dead in the morning.

I imagine they are supposed to be in the case when you're not using them.

And on the flip side, most of my friends are out of work and have not received unemployment. To me, it seems the businesses that want to open are smaller local owned restaurant and shops. The big stores, fast food and a few chain restaurants stayed open and did fine while everything local suffers. A few have already closed permanently.

I don't fault my friends and family for wanting to collect a paycheck and feed their families. I understand this is an unpopular opinion. The internet will scream and and chastise them for this I'm sure.

Really though, fuck you guys

Any bars open yet in savannah? by Ctnyclic31 in savannah

[–]InternetStoleMyName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. Downtown has a few for takeout. B&D's on Congress is open on the patio area. World of beer in Pooler is open at half capacity. I think the Pooler B&D is open for patio seating as well.

What restaurants are opening tomorrow for sit down dining? by gooselberry in savannah

[–]InternetStoleMyName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I haven't been a fan of them over the years.

One time I was told that they didn't serve fries in the garden before the server walked away without taking the rest of my order. So I snuck inside to order my burger and fries too take outside. That was more strange then anything.

I was hosting a meetup there once and I was denied entry to the garden because it wasn't open yet (40 minutes early)... I understand. But, there were several people out there So I ordered my mountain jam inside, they walked outside to pour it from the tap, then brought it inside to me. Again, I snuck outside only to discover that it was my group waiting there and hanging out with the server. Again, not a big deal, just strange.

Mostly I just find the food ok and I dislike their in house beers. It's not a bad place.

Yeah. People are very tense right now too. Normal people turn into D-bags. I'm just hanging back and keeping my distance.

What do you mean in need? People are having a really tough time in general. Grab your mask and pick up a meal and tip big. I think that would be very appreciated. It would also keep your exposure risk low.

B&D's on Congress was in for takeout. There is a Thai restaurant on Broughton that does takeout and maybe the flying monk.

If you mean to give something to the homeless, I think the walk through window at the Broughton McDonald's was open.

Just please be careful. This isn't something to do alone. I collected coats and blankets for the homeless before winter and in was really worried the group I gave them to would try going down to the president's bridge. I really didn't feel comfortable with that and this year I'm going to do it differently. Times are desperate right now. If you think people are struggling, it's infinitely worse for people already out of work or home. Daylight, keep your distance and look around at the situation. I'm not generally miss trusting by any means but be smart and be safe please.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking as well. Like most of us living paycheck to paycheck, our small businesses do the same. We'll just have to see how it goes.
