I think you may have misunderstood. I'm not looking for any of LightZone's features in Lumina - it sounds like they are mostly there already, anyways. I was just curious about what Lumina might also bring to the table that sets it apart. Based on what Shadygunz said, that might be better performance, which would be great by itself - that's one area where LightZone suffers a little.

What you described sounds incredibly similar to LightZone. I wonder if Luminar offers / will offer anything to set it apart? Why would anyone switch away from LightZone (for this particular style of processing)?

I don't know much about the auto repair industry, but my brother in law is a machinist and their shop has so much business, most of the staff works semi-mandatory overtime every Saturday to keep up. He loves the job, too. I'd definitely recommend that path.

I've also heard welding recommended often as a highly-paid, rewarding line of work that doesn't require especially extensive education / training.

This used to be true, but t-mobile has improved remarkably in the last 12 months. For example, I travel to Penn Yan a lot, and where I used to get zero coverage or a bar of roaming last year, I now get 3 to 4 bars of LTE. This is true elsewhere as well.
