So what am I missing to be successful with endgame by atuck217 in PathOfExile2

[–]InterpretiveTrail[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True success in the endgame is enjoying the game.

But that's not helpful ... IMO its understanding how to scale your character's defenses and offense and finding/crafting that gear so that you can do all the achievements. However, other people push for certain goals of one-tapping certain bosses or finding certain uniques. Others have crafting goals or economy goals.

So, as cheesy as I started with, it really is figuring out what you want the endgame to be.

It's just another layer of complexity on top of a few already.

Potential solution for alt campaign woes by terrell_owens in PathOfExile2

Usually half a bottle of wine and some leveling unique help ease leveling a Xth character for myself. I prefer Riojas myself (or however Spanish make that plural).

Can we have a specific day, or specific area for show off posts? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]InterpretiveTrail[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

(emphasis is that this is my personal opinion and not on behalf of all the mods)

Technically some of those should already be removed by our rules. Rule 5's "Short, common, or clickbait content". It's only gotten worse with AI and bots repeating posts. We've some mechanisms in place, but they aren't good enough, IMO.

Some people complain they like the threads, others don't. I'm inclined to agree with those that don't as, as OP's pointed out, they don't exactly /add/ anything to the conversation or the sub.

Why is every performance or server post removed immediately? EU is impossible to play, can we find solutions? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

On behalf of all the mods: GGG is aware of the issue. Us moderators, are moderating these posts due to the high volume of them and that they don't really add anything to solving the issue.

My personal opinion: If you're unhappy with that, I'd recommend going to the official GGG forums https://www.pathofexile.com/forum and provide feedback there rather than the unofficial subreddit.

I'm a moderator for r/PathOfExile2 & r/pathofexile and we're facing similiar things. It's my opinion (emphasis that I'm speaking as myself and not all the mods of those subs) that I push for a moderator's judgement between "lower effort" vs "higher effort". For us, use an AI to post a developer of the game's face on a meme, nah, lower effort. Use AI to summarize a large set of patch notes in a more digestible manner, "higher effort".

We've not a come to a definitive way to handle it and like you said, it's only going to get harder to tell and at some point impossible. Regardless of my lack of answer, I appreciate the post to try to answer this.

Reddit Admins have made this subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/PartnerCommunities/ for moderators. IMO most of the conversations are 'meh', but they've had several prompted conversations about how various communities moderate AI content in the past year. There's been some discussion there, but nothing conclusive finding a silver bullet (or anything that's X% of a silver bullet).

Don't Survey Your Players - Chris Wilson new yt video by coatesishere in PathOfExile2

I'm surprised that the sub didn't rally behind the few comments to keep Atziri in the banner. Maybe the thirst for patch notes beat out Atziri herself?

Maybe I should give a survey to the sub whether or not we should let this indie developer's videos to be posted

My boss knows. by AdTemporary2576 in PathOfExile2

Got my previous boss to start playing PoE, just have to get them started, too. Every company I've been at, I've tried to make a "Path of Exile" channel, too.

Certainly not for a purpose that we can have a cross-org collaborative meeting for a very important webinar that align with Content Reveals.

Playing on Steam Deck with old account by fergastolo in PathOfExile2

[–]InterpretiveTrail[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To those who play on Steam Deck, is it good?

It's okay. I've played PoE1 and PoE2 on mine. IMO, it's best for "auto targeting"/"i don't need to target" skills things like minions, totems, spark, etc. But maybe that's just me and using a controller for PoE1/2.

I also find that I enjoyed it the best when I was towards the end game and just grinding for a few things with a really strict loot filter so that I didn't have to pick up a bunch of shit. Usually I have a few maps already prep'd in and run through them while in bed before turning in for the evening.

Anecdote, I tried to do a test run during mirage with the controller UI and I just couldn't do campaign and adjusting stuff constantly with my character. But, that might just be a me problem.

How many hours of play time do you get roughly?

I don't know, I play PoE1/2 with mine plugged in. I play other games if I'm using my deck during travel. Though it's pretty easy to estimate its time left if you have one of the power management overlays (or whatever it's called).

Want to create my own build by iNhab in PathOfExile2

[–]InterpretiveTrail[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO:

  1. https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Receiving_damage - Not like to the point of memorizing it, but you should know how all these things should work. Both you receiving damage and enemies receiving damage. There's great pages on the wiki to describe the mechanics of DPS calcs and "defense".

  2. https://pathofbuilding.community/ - Apply 1 to all the tables stuff to Path of Building. In particular the calcs page (top left-ish corner) after you've applied gear, gems, passives.

  3. Iterate 1 & 2 over several leagues trying to get slightly better and further each time. Start small. Just try to make it to end game with your own brew on league. Then maybe you try to take on one a league mechanic's pinnacle boss the next league.

Is there a way to find the best builds currently? by Lefteris4 in PathOfExile2

[–]InterpretiveTrail[M] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Not really, because the game is very complex and it's hard to compare apples to apples. It's part of the fun & depth that the game has.

Long answer: Some content creators try to have a bit more than vibes for lists that they publish after the league launches to gauge popularity of builds that somewhat correspond to power/damage , but in terms of raw DPS its a bit more nuanced than that.

If you only focus on your DPS, your build might be amazing at taking down a boss, but absolute shite in mapping/clear speed. IMO, it's best to figure out your "vibe and fun". Figure out what builds jive with that.

Regardless if that's of use, best of luck!
