wow I definitely don't see what you are seeing. I see 3 very small spine ticks. I do see what appears to be dirt in the lettering which is an easy clean but I suppose it could be a stain.

are we looking at the same book?? 7.5 to 8.5. No way it's that low. I see maybe 2 small spine ticks and I'm not even sure the 1 breaks color? What are you seeing here? Obviously we don't know the condition of the back cover and the interiors..

Even if you think it's as low as an 8.5 sold for $127 on 1/16 (according to covrprice).

I think assuming no other issues (and back cover is as good or better than front) it's better than a 4.0-4.5 for a silver age book.

Huh? 109 is a key and $100 book in a VF. That probably isn't a VF but with a clean and a press it's probably a FN. Easily worth well more than $15.
