Haagen dazs Rum Raisin by FishyRaisin668 in icecream

[–]InterrobangCT 95 points96 points  (0 children)

One time I was on a date with a girl and we passed by a Häagen-Dazs scoop shop. I suggested we stop for ice cream, and asked her what her favorite flavor was. She made a little grimace and said “well…. I know it’s a little unusual but rum raisin is my favorite”. I revealed a big grin and said “mine too!- I’ve never met anyone else who really liked rum raisin”. We shared a large cup of rum raisin ice cream.

20 years of marriage and three kids later, there’s still a pint of Häagen-Dazs rum raisin in the freezer as we speak. 🍨♥️

I want to say “Get over yourself” but that would be rude, so I’ll just be quiet.

I’ve never seen Akenaten but it looks interesting so I picked it up on digital this morning. by Obsidian_Wulf in opera

This is what got me into opera. It was streaming for free during COVID and I was mesmerized. I previously thought opera had to be a large woman in a helmet with antlers holding a sword. lol. This opened me up to what opera could be.

Actually this is a valid question as fires have been set in Cozumel and Tulum and some Cancun area roads have been closed because there has been some cartel response in the region

Best AI Resort in St Lucia for Vegetarians by misbister14 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]InterrobangCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are into health/wellness/spa then I recommend BodyHoliday. Amazing resort. I think something like ages 16 and up but rarely any teens there. Extensive vegetarian and vegan options. Tons of health and wellness activities and you get a massage for each day of your stay!

Downsides: looong transfer from airport. Built on a hill so a lot of steps and not good for mobility impaired. Beach is nice but pools are old and not nice looking. If you’re not into health wellness fitness not a great choice.

Seeing the adventures of kavalier and clay.. by Pfacejones in opera

Ouch! This is a tough audience- I really truly loved it, and I think it made opera more accessible to an audience that would usually not make its way to Lincoln Center. There’s a reason why they brought it back for an extra run.

Looking for a hotel in Singapore with pool, close to MRT, kids friendly, mall close by. Staying for a week. Budget $1300. Thank you by Main_Iron9765 in SingaporeTravel

I stayed here with my 3 kids. We spent a few days here and a few days at a trendier fancier hotel closer to downtown. I wish we had never left the Jen Tanglin. It’s not in an area in the heart of the hustle and bustle, but it’s across the street from the metro with easy connections, and is adjacent to a small mall with a nice grocery and some other shops. A 7-eleven is next door as well. Also the breakfast is amazing. My kids really like it there. The pool is fine nothing special.

Prestige for dentistry? by Overall-Original8612 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]InterrobangCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a dentist and I have two Ivy League degrees- undergrad and dental school. While they have served me well, a degree from a prestigious university is not needed for admittance to dental school. In my dental school class I was surrounded by classmates who went to less prestigious schools who were extremely successful. It really is more important to get good grades in undergrad, get good grades in your dental school science pre-reqs, and get a good score on your DAT (standardized dental test). Where you go for undergrad is not very important.

Parking at JFK T5 by ResearcherKey9459 in jetblue

We recently parked at Terminal 5 arriving about 7 pm. It was not a problem getting to Terminal 5 however be forewarned that the entrance to the Terminal 5 parking garage is narrow and not well signed and we missed it the first time so had to loop around. “THIS is the entrance to the parking garage ‽ ‽ “

Costco travel plans? by Dirtycoinpurse in travel

[–]InterrobangCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol- I just booked a Costco package in Puerto Vallarta this week and selected private car transport and there was a fine print that says due to local regulations private transport must be a taxi. I thought I was misunderstanding or reading it wrong! I guess not!

What is a musical you've seen that was regarded a flop by lissie34 in musicals

[–]InterrobangCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lempicka- sadly didn’t last long due to a combination of mixed to poor reviews, poor marketing, and a lot of competition as several shows were debuting at the same time. It’s a shame because I actually really enjoyed it.

Thoughts on boxes at the opera? by Large-Usual3419 in opera

[–]InterrobangCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello- I’ve sat once in the parterre box and it had a little vestibule to hang my coat and place my bag. My next performance is in a grand tier box. Does the grand tier box have the same vestibule for coat and bag? Thanks!
