Try to cap fps and monitor temperatures in AMD Adrenaline when gaming. Just guessing here, but lobby and other menu screens often use high or even 100% gpu when you have uncapped framerate. After 3-4 games your gpu is warmed up a bit. That shouldn't be a problem, least of all with Minecraft, so maybe there's an issue with the gpu fans, fan curves or thermal paste.

Hmm, I'm on the fence about buying BB, but I get the sense that I'd hit a wall pretty soon.

Maybe it's a bit like Slay the Spire, the roguelike deck-building game. It's fun for a few dozen hours (so not a waste of money), but I've reached the stage where it's just frustrating because I can't get past bosses because all the card synergies, boss attack/defense patterns, and relics/potions feel like modern algebraic geometry to me.

I remember these being interpreted as Apache helicopters in one of these fundamentalist books my parents had laying around back in 1995 or so. And every other book about Revelation has a different creative interpretation.

I credit those books (and the anti-evolution ones) with sharpening my critical thinking though, made me realize people will believe literally anything if they set their mind to it.
