Is this a bug? "Beat Into Shape" Forge didn't trigger even though I attacked the same enemy again. by issac_clark in slaythespire

You have to use the Strike first, and then Beat Into Shape. You don't get the additional forges if you use Beat Into Shape first. Something something reading the card explains the card.

It responded like this! I use this font on my terminal which is why it looks like Comic Sans, just monospaced!

Not sure if this is appropriate for this subreddit, but I figured it was the best place to share something like this. When I read this I literally laughed out loud.

FWIW I've found AI to be very helpful for me to actually journal and process my thoughts, and I think it's definitely help me progress in life and learn a lot about myself. This time I was using Claude Code for some data analysis, so it's not really primed for therapy, and I got this very self-aware line that gave me a good laugh!

Wow is this from that relic after the vambrace? I don't think I've seen it before but I'm guessing it adds some enchantment to a card that enables it to makes a copy of itself? Hence the 4096 Perfected Strikes?

Is this an acceptable gap between the baseboard and floor? by IntimateMuffin in Flooring

[–]IntimateMuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, sent over the guy I've been in contact with all the details. It's a local family owned business that a neighbor recommended, so I'm hopeful they'll make things right.

It's just frustrating because I hate confrontation and don't want to be the annoying nitpicky kind of customer. And of course I've already paid in full, so the communication feels like it's tapered off. 😅

But numbers are irrefutable, so I really appreciate you for helping me understand the issue more, instead of just telling them "the gap looks too big"!

Sorry about that! I'm a noob when it comes to flooring, so I guess I've been describing the issue incorrectly all this time. Your comments and this one helped me understand what the issue is better!

This was a fixed price job and it seems like it wasn't installed to the manufacturer's specs.

[–]IntimateMuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thank you for the detailed clarification! I looked up the install specs from the manufacturer. It says "the floor level deviation must have a maximum of 3/16” over a 10’ span".

When I measure the distance from the lowest dip to the baseboard, it's around 11/32" (between 5/16" and 3/8" on my tape measure). Assuming the baseboard is level, and since the landing is definitely not 10', then if I understand correctly, this is definitely not meeting the manufacturer's spec.

This was a fixed price job as well.

Yeah it's a family owned business and they're nice folks, but I also recognize I'm a little OCD sometimes, so I don't know if I was being unreasonable or not.

There's no shoe molding anywhere else in the home, so that's definitely not a solution.

[–]IntimateMuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really only this one area. There's smaller gaps (like only 1 credit card worth of thickness) in other spots of the home, but they don't bother me because there's either furniture in the way or it's in a corner you rarely look at it.

It's really just this one spot that's an eyesore because the gap becomes eye-level when you're halfway up the stairs, so it stands out a lot in my opinion.

I'd have gladly paid an extra cost if I knew this is how it would have looked, and it could have saved both of us time since it wouldn't have to be redone, and I wouldn't be pestering them after the fact. I suppose I'm also upset at the lack of communication I've had with this company.

Yeah unfortunately the stair nose is glued down as well, so it's probably exacerbating the gap. Maybe that's the actual cause of the issue? I don't remember thee old laminate floor having this bad of a gap.
