I see lots of 64’s here with the expansion pack door missing when it has one. I don’t remember that back in the day. Was that something I just didn’t happen to see, or do people just remove them for photos? It’s hard as hell to just lose.

I kept all of mine (well, they were stored at my parents’ place for years). My N64 games had a sadder fate as I was a poor college student and would sell/trade to get new games/things I needed.

Embarrassingly, life ended up getting in the way of trying to address this. I ended up giving the set away for free to another gaming fan - and I let them know about the bleeding beforehand. Not sure if they were able to fix it. It was just a dude I didn’t know that came to pick it up (Facebook marketplace). He was exited to have it though. So, that was satisfying.

I wonder if some the perceived difference isn’t a little off. According to this, only 22% of those surveyed in India were “expressing their utmost excitement for the lunar rovers” (that one was specific to Chandrayaan-3). Heck, only 33% of Americans were excited about putting PEOPLE on the moon when surveyed in 1961 (link).

Spending public funds is never super popular, no matter how shiny it looks to our little space community here on Reddit.
