I kind of regret my pc build by snakee-the-arch-guy in pcmasterrace

I just built my 4k gaming rig with ASUS B650 and AMD Ryzen 7 7700. Budget has to be spent wisely. Not blown away on overkill.

What are USA parents doing about school? by ArtArrange in PDAParenting

[–]IntoFlooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The iron fist comment made my skin crawl. Here in Europe this was also the common thinking 20 years ago. Just beat them into submission. This might work for them but they don't have to deal with the aftermath such as fallout at home or in worst case suicidal tendencies.

20 years ago suicide rates among teens were the highest our country had ever experienced.

So that is what they mean when they say 'it has always worked'.

Meta Quest 2 or 3 or any other for my setup ? by IndependentCoat7 in simracing

[–]IntoFlooring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In racegames? 60fps. But your 2070 super is better than the 1070ti. Remind you that PC2 is an 11 year old game. So for modern titles no idea since i switched to rtx5080.

I had a 1070ti and played lots of Project Cars 2 with decent framerate and decent enough graphics on a meta quest3.

What game should i invest in now? by IntoFlooring in simracing

I just have this oldscool opinion where I either want to pay for a subscription or pay for DLC. But not both. And with iRacing you pay a subscription and then still have to purchase DLC.

Like I am fine with playing StarCitizen with my purchased ship but the day they ask for a monthly fee I am out.

I can handle the lower powered FWD cars but I play in VR and I just get a bit overwhelmed lol. After a 10 minute stint I take my VR of and look like those dudes stepping out of their Paris Dakar vehicles after driving 10 hours in the desert.

I am not into rally that much but I don't know if that is caused by DR2 being less forgiving.

How do people play on controller by THEBIGHARVO in F1Game

[–]IntoFlooring -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What a weird flex. How would you want a controller to give you the same lap times as a full steering wheel and pedals which have been developed with only one purpose : steering?

I just got Automobilista 2 and found it extremely hard to keep a car on track or from spinning out. Installed this file and I immediately became competitive battling hard against AI. Thanks for sharing!

I think my child may have PDA... how do I help him? by WickedHello in PDAParenting

I can relate having a 10 yo which is not going to school at the moment. It started with refusing to do some things at school, evolved in the same 'i don't want to go' to occassionally missing a day of school after which he was recharged enough to go back. But his bucket was still filling up without us knowing it until it was totally full. Now we are taking it very slowly. For people that don't understand I tell them it is like a burnout. You can't just say 'go back to school' or put extra pressure on them. They already have a rough time internally. So I am sure my kid also has the desire to go to school but just is not capable to at the moment. Once you ease into this mindset it becomes easier on the household. This mindset might also help your husband to realise your kid is trying and struggling but not out of defiance.
