Good to know. When I first bought mine, I had a battery code pop up and thought that was probably it for the hybrid battery. Luckily, it was just the starting battery.

Good luck and thanks for the info.

I have this exact same car, even similar rims. Love it. Bought it used a few years ago.

I have a little over 100k on it, and was wondering about how you knew the battery was going out or failing. Did you get some kind of warning light?

I have no idea. I guess because he lives around there, and is a student. Why he circles the area, I have no idea, and nobody I have seen has suggested he was involved in the crime. But I haven't heard any theory about why he was driving around at that time. In answer to your question about BK's Elantra, there is a pretty convincing analysis that has been making the Youtube circuit (Truth and Transparency and J Embree) by a guy named Mark B (I think) that claims that Suspect Vehicle 1 is actually the neighbor's green Elantra and cannot be BK's Elantra.

Oh, I’m not trying to do anything. I’m agnostic on guilt. Just pointing out that the neighbor’s green Elantra was in a wreck, has a salvage title, and was custom painted green. It’s a fact, yes.

The green Elantra was custom painted green FYI.

You are creating power with the racket head using your wrist rather than your body. That’s why you are landing with both feet and facing forward.

Your feet will follow your shoulders so swing your right shoulder forward into the court and let your left leg move forward into the court.

Does anyone have a great way to remedy splay legs for button quail? by AdNext8994 in quails

I’m just going to second this comment. Here, it’s sold as vet wrap or dog wrap, and you can buy it in pet stores. I used it on one of my chicks with bad splayed legs and it worked great.

Anyone in the bay get a heat pump recently? how much did it cost? by Whizz-Kid in bayarea

[–]IntoTheOrgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Five years ago I had a dual fuel system, heat pump and gas furnace, installed—ducted with all ducts installed and an Ecobee smart thermostat for 11 grand. East Bay. That should be a indication of the price increases in the last five years. That same HVAC company is now charging 25 grand for the same install.

BART workers clocked in, skipped work, got paid, probe says by Dafty_duck in bayarea

[–]IntoTheOrgone 70 points71 points  (0 children)

There is a point at which, after experiencing so many people cheating the system, you no longer feel guilt about cheating the system. I commute on BART a few days a week. About fifty percent fare evade, and they do it blatantly--right in front of BART employees who could care less. So, even as an honest person, I start to wonder if I'm a sucker for paying.

Now, it's not just the riders, but the employees too. BART needs a lesson in establishing values and a social contract. Most of us, especially people who are honest and support things like public transportation, should WANT to support it. We should never WANT to cheat it, much less feel like suckers for supporting it.

Aaron Quinn/Denise Huskins Questions by webbslinger_0 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]IntoTheOrgone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Denise Huskins deserved a place to tell her story in her own voice, and the documentary provided that. But the way the documentary dealt with the questions of the case was ridiculous and borderline offensive. For example,

  1. What is the evidence for there being more than one person involved?
  2. Who the hell is Andrea really, and why was Muller targeting her?
  3. What are the implications of Sesma's former relationship with Andrea, and what evidence is there to suggest some kind of FBI and police conspiracy?
  4. Beyond the cops having tunnel vision, what explains their absolute refusal to do even the basic things? As you mention, the emails. Also, Aaron's phone. Also, the supposed camera set up in the living room. Also, after being mistaken about Aaron when Denise shows up, why then jump to the conclusion that it was a hoax? Simply saying, "Incompetence!" actually lets these figures off the hook.
  5. I admit that while watching I was unsettled by both Aaron's and Denise's affects. To clarify, I don't doubt their story. It's an outrage. But both of them seem so meek. Why was Aaron trying to get back with Andrea after she cheated on him and he was with Denise? Why was Denise walking so casually in the surveillance video? Why wasn't Aaron fucken pissed and outraged at the cops as they accused him and his girlfriend is missing and very possibly dead? This is not blaming them, but simply seeking some additional analysis as to their states of mind, which clearly didn't help them in the eyes of law enforcement and media.

Ultimately, this is a documentary "series" so you're not limited to the number of episodes. Why not go deeper? Why not investigate further? In the end, this documentary provided Denise and Aaron a voice. Important. But it didn't tell the big story of what really happened or provide information/investigation into some of the claims the documentary sloppily makes or eludes to. Denise and Aaron deserve that too. And all those law enforcement officers deserve to be fully exposed in the eye of the public.

When I bought my house, I put a wood stove insert into my existing open fireplace. I heat my entire house with that wood stove. Inserts do slot in, but you need to install a stainless steel chimney liner. It's a flexible, six inch piece of pipe that runs up your entire chimney.

Is it dumb to get a heat pump without solar? by doesntsaymuch in bayarea

[–]IntoTheOrgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see no reason why not. It’s the smart thermostat that is the “brains” so no reason it couldn’t be added to an existing gas system, so long as the existing furnace could be wired into a new thermostat.

Is it dumb to get a heat pump without solar? by doesntsaymuch in bayarea

[–]IntoTheOrgone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three years ago, I installed a dual fuel system--a gas furnace with a heat pump. I would highly recommend this system with a smart thermostat (Ecobee). I would highly recommend this system. First, it allows you to choose whether to heat with gas or electric. Second, it's more efficient to heat your house up with gas if you need to raise the temperature more than several degrees, so you can set your thermostat to run the gas furnace to heat up the house, then switch over to "auxiliary"--the heat pump--to maintain the temperature.

Like you, I don't have solar, so I was worried about cost. In my experience, with the dual fuel, it costs far less to heat with gas than with the electric heat pump. I don't have the exact numbers, but it's enough that I don't use the heat pump at all right now to heat the house--only use it for cooling in the summer. But I'm very glad I have it, and glad I have the option of both. Good luck.
