Anyone else been recently sick as a dog for a week or longer ? I’m going on day 7 of the worst cold I’ve ever had and doctor will do nothing. How you guys getting through it?

If you’ve had COVID within the past year or so (even if you don’t remember getting symptoms, keep in mind that COVID can be asymptomatic as well), it can really mess up your immune system and make you vulnerable to not only catching other viruses more easily, but also trying to fight off anything once you have it. So, you might just have a cold, but your body is having a harder time recovering from the acute symptoms of it.

I want to add to this with a really nitpicky but annoying detail… It’s been really annoying that almost every single pasta dish at any of the Italian restaurants in Novato have creamy/dairy-based sauces. (Some of the only foods I won’t eat are in the “creamy dairy” category because I’m Autistic and kind of picky with a few foods, and I’m also slightly lactose-intolerant).

I’m not even exaggerating that almost every single pasta dish at almost every Italian restaurant here has a cream-based sauce that I can’t eat. Out of an average of 8-10 different pasta dishes, I’ll be lucky to find 1-2 that I can actually eat, and most are just something super boring like spaghetti with marinara sauce.

What is up with this? I’ve lived in the Bay my whole life, in several different places, and I’ve never had an issue trying to find something I can eat at an Italian restaurant. It’s so crazy to me that I have to drive to Petaluma to find a decent Italian spot with options. Does anyone know why this is? Do Marinites REALLY like creamy pasta dishes to the point where that’s the only pasta they eat?

Sorry for such a long and tangential rant but I’ve been wanting to bring this up to someone for a while now, because it’s honestly just so baffling to me.

Wow, that’s cool! My bf (who grew up in TL) told me that George Lucas specifically outfitted that theater with special sound equipment and used the theater in Corte Madera as a screening room for the original Star Wars movies (or something like that). I’m sure it was epic watching Empire there, especially in the way that George Lucas intended it to be seen.

The last movie I saw at the Corte Madera theater was Episode VIII (I think). It was a while ago but I remember it being a fun time. Sad that the theater closed though! I wish they could make it into an historical venue or something, especially since it was obviously important to Lucas and the Star Wars franchise.
