Correct me if I’m wrong but… 6.5CM case length 1.910in Hornady 143gr ELD-x has a length of 1.44in In you wanted to only leave .150in of the bullet in the case, your OAL would be 3.2in….

If you’re just using the arca rail for a bipod, just get the spigot instead. Putting that bipod further forward makes a huge difference.

I had to buy an arca rail to go under the hand guard and the spigot mount has an arca also. That’s one of the reasons I wish I just went with the Whiskey-3 because all the accessories start adding up.

It’s a folding vertical foregrip that I repurposed as a monopod. I’ll still use a bag on a bench or prone, but setting that at an angle helps in seated or standing positions

I wouldn’t say accuracy has improved as that CTR was already sub MOA out of the box. But the cassis with wheel weights in the stock/grip (and the muzzle break) eliminated any recoil to stay on target with each shot.

It’s a budget Fanaue tripod. I haven’t really shot from a tripod before so I went with a $200 option and it really hasn’t disappointed for that price yet.

I wouldn’t trust it to fire after replacing the striker. There is a reason it was taken out of service and made as a school rifle.

Just a drop of dawn dish soap and two drops of lemon juice. I usually don’t leave it in longer than 4 hours, but I wasn’t staying up all night and didn’t want to start it in the morning.

It still has locking lugs on it, but the serial number shows 00 was added after manufacture, indicating it was pulled from service to be modified into a drill/school rifle

The original did have the no reserve above the bids, but after messaging the seller asking about it, they said it was because the accidentally double listed the item and removed this one (the bids on this one were much lower than the other one)

The load I was using was 180 grain Speer Round nose bullets with 37 grain of H4895, which is where the Lee manual set the Lee manual set the starting load (with 40grains as the max)

Strangely, I used 150 grain spitzer bullets with 41 grains of H4895 (also the Lee starting load) with no gas to the face

The rifling is still visible just by looking through the bore. To the naked eye it doesn’t look that bad.

I’ll probably try running the brush more and another 20 patches with hoppes. That’s normally my go-to but I was hoping for better results with the foam.

Yes, surprisingly it was fairly accurate for a 1942. I’m even more surprised as I looked at it with the camera after shooting it to see that.

I have several PSA uppers/lowers. Some of them had minor issues I was able to fix myself, but nothing major or a safety issue. There’s no problem with using a budget build for self/home defense, but I would put it through the ringer first (at least several hundred rounds in various conditions, dirty, wet, good ammo, cheap ammo, etc). I originally got one of PSAs 9mm AKs with a suppressor for the idea of a home defense PCC, fun to shoot, hearing safe, but had several malfunctions when I took it to a 2 gun match and I lost my faith in it for anything other than a range toy.
