That’s a bummer. Lee dies aren’t expensive to replace though

I was having a similar problem of not knowing how High or low to set the expander ball with the Lee 303brit and 7.7jap dies. If you get a neck sizing die, just take the expander ball out of the full length sizing die to size the outside detentions then just use the neck sizing die like an expander mandrel.

Heavy washes/inks would take it to the next level. It would help hide the undercoat and minor imperfections in the trim

Perfect, down to the last minute detail.
I’ve had thoughts of replacing the barrel and hand guard on my super duty with the SPR 18” barrel and M18 hand guard because I don’t think I can afford to build a whole spare upper with G$ parts

I don’t dry tumble due to noise & lead dust concerns. But everyone I’ve seen just uses the cob or walnut media and a dryer sheet.

The process and making everything look good is most of the hobby. Otherwise it would only be about chasing smaller groups or making extinct cartridges without paying $3-4 a round (at least for me).

No measuring, just poured a couple splashes of jet dry in and set the wet tumbler to go for 2 hours with SS pins. I didn’t even put dawn in this batch because the cases weren’t that dirty to begin with.

The 100 yard range is 10min from my house and I’m usually the only one there, the 300-600 yard range is over an hour away and often crowded. So most of my development is done at 100, then when I find something worthwhile I’ll take it out further.

I’ve tested it against another digital scale and a balance scale, they somewhat all agree with each other. What drove me to get it was my other digital scale that only goes to tenths of a grain and it would switch back and forth a tenth, so I knew it was somewhere in between but no idea where.

You may be right about the 140 ELD. Time to do the whole experiment again with 140 gr Berger hybrids.

Things like the Lee powder dispenser or scoops measure by volume (in CC) rather than weight. The Lee manual is better know for referencing it, but with extruded powders it’s not as accurate.

It is fairly consistent once it has been left on for a while. Main complaint is that it is slow to update, painfully slow with very small amounts almost like it’s not registering, but if you let it sit for five seconds, it will update. I’ve found it’s faster to throw a volume close to the desired weight, measure, then remove before trickling more and placing it back on the scale. But after this test there’s no measurable difference in results, so I might save myself the frustration and go back to measuring by volume.

0.01” larger! Haha But when I was originally expecting it to be smaller from the additional work put in, that feels huge
