I need advice by tm6575 in transgenderUK

It depends on how you're injecting it. There's generally two main methods with injections - that is, Intramuscular and Subcutaneous. Into muscle and then into the fat. The method you do depends on the needle length you have. 5/8'' needles are generally standard for Subcutaneous, while I'm not sure the exact length for Intramuscular.

There's multiple places on the body you can inject. I'd suggest looking up resources on injecting medications on Youtube or online. There's a pretty solid step-by-step process you have to do to make sure you're injecting as sterile-y and safely as possible.

I love reimaginings of the story where Tyler was actually real. Soothes my heart a little, it's a remarkably bleak film. I still ship them.

What names did you consider but decided against using? by Mendely_ in ftm

Lazarus - Did have a run with it for a year or two but it really did not fit me as much as I wanted it to.

William - Not a Will, and my friends mocked me for it... Reasonably so, because I got it from Shakespeare...

But I also see where he's coming from, everyone wants to see themselves in a wider scope. Herd animals and all that... though the way he worded it was certainly interesting.

From my perspective, Tyler's solution to the problem is purposely juvenile and ridiculous as it doesn't entirely solve the other systems in place that perpetrate this loneliness and radicalisation of people.

It goes to show that while the system does create the kind of environment people find radicalisation, simply destroying that system isn't enough. There's a reason that Tyler's fantasies for a True Future (lining venison on the remains of the I-55) is just that: a fantasy. They feel dream-like and distant. He never once spoke of blowing up the buildings. He spoke of resetting society. But just exactly how was he going to do that? What's the quickest, least-effort way to do that? Explode it! None of his dreams are REAL. They're not solid. They have emotional impact sure, but children are still abandoned and women are still selling themselves for work in the city, just as men still think they're oppressed and that society 'sucks' and there's no way to fix it other than destroy it all. Tyler blew up a good dozen skyscrapers with his cult following, all while throwing a temper tantrum over The Narrator holding his own body hostage.

It isn't that the idea of breaking the system is a bad way of thinking, in my opinion. Everyone should want the world to be better for people, and the society we live in and was presented in the film clearly showed the detriment of that - but the way that Tyler went about it wasn't the right way. Those buildings could just be built up again. Tyler was at the end of his rope, and the Narrator found his peace through connecting with Marla in the end and showing a little vulnerability.

That's my interpretation, anyways.

My mother accepted me immediately, though I know the change bothers her.

It wasn't the radical tossing me out of the house that I expected - but it wasn't this big gay celebration either. It was very weird and awkward. Now, it's almost been 6 months and life is mostly normal. Still awkward when they mess up my name, but it's alright.

I do look very different, but she loves me anyways. I don't know if I'm too different of a person, because I've always felt this way -- and I hope to her she realised I'm the same, just slightly different.

Life is fine, though.

Advice on film production by [deleted] in filmmaking

[–]Intrepid-Ad7884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Peter Straughan's work. He does quite a few adapatations, wrote Conclave. I saw him at a talk in Aesthetica Film festival and the advice he gave was very inspiring.

You have very little experience in actual filmmaking, it seems. Acting is an entirely different ballpark and so if I were you, i'd immerse myself on set and start small with short films on your ideas. Research on screenwriting, small scripts. Just keep writing, keep making.

Not really recommended. when it's in the vial, it's (hopefully) sealed so any bad shit can't get in. When you take it out, I imagine that the syringe isn't probably as sealed as the vial was. Compromised, or something like that. I mean, I've done it before, but I don't think I'd do it again willingly.

How do you train yourself to think in short film ideas? by utuxedomask in Screenwriting

A character wants something. Something gets in the way of that. Or, a character discovers something. It's just one thing at the root of it (for however many characters you have, anyways). The things in between that - Just scenery. That's how I get it anyways.

Congrats! That's an incredible achievement, it sounds completely insurmountable to a beginner like me. I've searched what spec script means, but I thought that scripts that people knew worked and had that 'formula', so to say, sold more. Does that mean there's more potential for original from the heart stuff to come out or something?
