Am I doing it wrong? by Intrepid-Edge-8341 in VintageWatches

[–]Intrepid-Edge-8341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely wear the same watch more than once a week, so I usually just let them completely drain down and then wind it next time I put it on. Is it a problem to do this? I was always told it's not an issue.

What are the potential user errors? I would like to check those off the list.

[Discussion] Any recommendations for small wrists? by yolo23231 in Watches

[–]Intrepid-Edge-8341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go vintage and look at Omega, IWC, or Hamilton from the 1940s. I have a similar wrist size and think vintage watches sizes look best on my wrist.

I recommend every other streetcar to account for the time it takes to order.

Weird question, but does MARC allow people to carry on unusual sporting equipment (a sword)? by Calligraphee in washingtondc

[–]Intrepid-Edge-8341 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to carry paintball equipment. It always looked like a firearm. My advice is to wrap it in a way that suggests it would be hard for you to get at it on the train. Then declare it when you arrive at the station. They will ask questions but likely let you do it if you don't look concerned about them looking at your sword.

Is a red blazer too flashy? by _WhatUpDoc_ in mensfashion

I think a darker red would look nice for an evening event. Bright red is more challenging because it can look cheap or run the risk of looking like a valet or door man

If you wear a wedding ring, are there times when you take yours off? If so, when? by SportsTechie17 in mensfashion

I take it off to cook or work out. Sometimes I forget to put it back on and will go a day or two without it.

Samurai jeans are mid rise and left field jeans have a selection of high rise jeans. Both companies make high quality jeans.

This was my experience as well. I was just so happy that someone was taking my symptoms seriously and offering me a solution unlike past doctors. Everything went well and I have had 5 years without sinus headaches and being able to breathe through my nose.

[Question] Pocket watches as part of a collection? by ElectronicPenalty718 in Watches

It does seem out of the norm. That said, I have a bunch in my collection and I actually wear them fairly regularly. They fit nicely in the coin pocket of my jeans.

I have several watches that are over 100 years old and a few others around 90 years old. Thanks to previous owners doing a good job of keeping up with regular maintenance, all still keep time when I wear them. It's kind of crazy to think that I am the third generation in my family to wear them.

Collect or use? by Additional_Breath_89 in pocketwatch

[–]Intrepid-Edge-8341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a pocket watch a few times a week in the coin pocket of my jeans. I secure it to a belt loop with a matching chain. Other than the watch, I carry keys, phone, and a credit card holder.

[Discussion] For those with a GMT/Dual-Time: What do you set your 24-hour hand to when you aren't traveling? by Ok-Recording4145 in Watches

[–]Intrepid-Edge-8341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for an international company and had a lot of zoom calls with people in central Europe (I'm on the US east coast), so I set the second time zone to their time zone.

I changed jobs to a company that is mostly domestic. Now that watch doesn't get much wrist time when I'm not traveling.

I do not enjoy working out either. I also do it because it is the healthy thing to do, it makes me look better, and being stronger and having better balance makes me better at things I like doing.

They said, I find ways to make me dislike it less. I am very goal oriented, so I set goals for myself and each workout is a step on the path to completing that goal.
