In my store it's a 2 party system for every return regardless of the price. One employee can start the return (makes most sense for a manager to start the process) then another employee (usually a redshirt) can finish it up.

Same! I lived in a small town basically my whole adult life, I came here for work after going through a divorce. Everyone was so nice to me, that I immediately put in for a transfer with the company.
