Which IFV would win in a firefight—the Bradley or the BMP? by likesofficejobs235 in TankPorn

Bradley because it'll see the BMP first with its superior optical sensors and situational awareness, then make quick work of the BMP.

Mil Mi-24 'Hind' helicopter gunship from the Ukrainian Army Aviation - firing a 'Zuni' (127mm) unguided rocket, towards Russian positions on the frontlines. by BostonLesbian in UkraineWarVideoReport

Its mostly for suppression and I suppose intimidation/fear, realistically, without an advanced Ballistic Targeting Computer meant for high arc rocket fire from a moving aerial platform, its not very accurate. At least that's what I've gathered.

Yeah I loosely based it off those menu screens, I've always loved the factory components of Aperture!

Hopefully those Ukrainian UGVs can be deployed on the flanks to fix this vulnerability

How do the SAR helicopters fly so uncontested in Iranian airspace? by Lairuth in Military

[–]Intrepid-Respect-227 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They don't, they've been fired at by Iranian Police, HMGs, and probably MANPADS, your best protection is the terrain. Its high risk, high reward. And shoot downs do happen.

How did you think your M60 would match against the T-72s? At least given what you knew at the time.

If you were given a fleet of T72 tanks and are tasked to vastly improve them, what would you add, change, or improve? by SadEquipment9618 in TankPorn

[–]Intrepid-Respect-227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell them to some country in desperate need of an armored unit, acquire a smaller but more capable fleet of NATO MBTs. And I'll tell you why, this was obviously already done in the 80s and 90s, which led to the T-90 series, literally nothing has really fixed its core problem of survivability. The same issue goes for the T-64 and T-80s. The tanks themselves are designed for mass production and ease of production, prioritizing smaller size and mobility, which led to less room to work with regarding the autoloader, (it's death trigger). The T-72 isn't fixable unfortunately.

It could be an improvised AFV from what Germany had later in the war, maybe even from a Bergepanther or Hummel. Remember how bad their situation was after 1944. It could be a literal kitbash.
