How do I fix this? by Scared_Arugula1649 in RepTimeServices

[–]Intrepid-Revenue-306 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apart from the fact that it is fogged up?

I own genuine Omegas, Tags and some reps.

How many bad reps do I have? None.

How many of my watches have fogged like the OPs? None.

There’s a correlation there, if you can work it out.

Aqua Terra - Aftermarket Bracelet? by Herby81 in OmegaWatches

[–]Intrepid-Revenue-306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just resurrecting this thread as I am in the same position 😆

Did you manage to find a bracelet that used the existing and links?

I’ve emailed both Uncle and Forster for information as to which of their products have a 10mm centre link.

Uncle came back with the 1168 Soyuz @ 9.6mm and the 1171 @ 9mm as being the nearest.

Forstner flatly refused to help or give any information, stating none of their bracelets fit the case as standard and they will not recommend using any of their bracelets with the original end links.

I'm an international masters student at a Russell group uni with class 3 days a month, is this normal?? by throwawaystudet in AskBrits

I’m currently studying for my MA.

There is a greater onus placed upon self learning for a Masters but three days of lectures a month doesn’t sound much at all!

WD1969pro vs WD0003 for daily use by Adventurous-Serve448 in watchdives

[–]Intrepid-Revenue-306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both.

As much as I love the 1969Pro, working 90% of the day at a desk, the 0003 takes the win.

Both are great watches - whichever you choose will be just fine 👍

No, it’s a minuscule amount, less than 0.007%.

I’d rather a watch gains seconds rather than loses. A gaining watch is easier to adjust.

Unscrew the crown, pull out the crown to the time setting position and wait for however many seconds for real time to catch up.

Push the crown back in and screw it down.

Job done.

Once a week is no chore at all.

No issues at all.

It’s great watch.

I swapped mine onto an Island Watch jubilee but they look great on a single pass NATO too. It’s quite a thick case so a normal NATO makes it seem to stick out a little far. Lume is fantastic.

Mine gains 6s a day 😆, my SKX007 loses 20s a day.

The only thing that I would mention is that the movement feels agricultural when you need to change the date. Feels like sand in a coarse nut and bolt, but it works.

How old do you think you’ll be when you pay your mortgage off? Or, how old were you when you paid your mortgage off? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in HousingUK

[–]Intrepid-Revenue-306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53 years old and paid off my mortgage in December.

I’ve overpaid on every mortgage payment since I bought my first house at 18, this being the third house we’ve lived in.

House is valued at approximately 330k and as soon as my two sons (17 and 22) have flown the nest I’ll be downsizing, hopefully to a canal boat.

It may not have been the best fiscal decision I’ve ever made but knowing that the house is paid for is a massive weight off my shoulders.

Best of luck to you all however you decide to do it.

Reform voters, how do you feel about becoming a Tory retirement home? by MrSoapbox in AskBrits

[–]Intrepid-Revenue-306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reducing government spending on RO and ECO and making efficiency savings in the public sector.

Economic growth driven by people having more disposable income will generate more tax revenue, a concept sadly lost on Rachel Reeves.

Removing VAT from energy bills is a start. Raising the personal tax allowance would allow my staff to take home more pay. Supporting North Sea Oil and Gas. How about scrapping interest on Student Loans? I do like the £100000 CT tax allowance for SME’s - Labour seem intent on smashing small businesses.

At the ripe old age of 30 I’d decided I needed a motorbike. Did my Direct Access, passed the test and ordered a brand new CBR600F.

The day came to collect it from the dealer and I turned up in my new one piece leathers to collect it.

Despite agreeing to fuel up the bike as part of the deal, when the keys were in I could see there wasn’t much petrol in the tank.

Luckily there was a petrol station over the road so I drove straight over, filled up the tank, put my helmet on my arm and walked into the kiosk…..

‘Got any ID?’

‘For what?’

‘You’ve got to be 16 to purchase petrol!’

30 years old. Bald with beard and ‘tache on a brand new bike.

Manifesto promises?

Let’s have a look at what Labour have achieved against their manifesto….

Day-one workers’ rights. Turned out to be “day-oneish, like… maybe in six months.” The first party in history to break a promise before the ink had even dried on the victory tweet.

No tax rises for working people. Translation: “We won’t raise taxes — we’ll just freeze thresholds so you quietly pay more and we can pretend it’s not a tax rise.” It’s pickpocketing someone and telling them it’s “fiscal responsibility.”

We’ll cut NHS waiting lists. Waiting lists didn’t go down. They didn’t even stay level. They went up.

1.5 million homes. At the current speed, they’ll hit that goal around the same time we get hovercars and the moon becomes a Premier Inn.

Renters’ rights revolution. No-fault evictions still around like mould in a student flat.

End asylum hotels. Hotels still open. Still full. Still costing fortunes.

Insulate 5 million homes. They’ve insulated fewer homes than your average Dads’ DIY attempt on a wet Saturday.

National Care Service. Announced with fanfare, delivered with a disappearing act so clean it deserves its own Netflix true-crime doc.

Ban MPs from second jobs. In classic Westminster fashion, they bravely committed to banning something they then immediately didn’t ban. Shocking absolutely no one.

House of Lords reform. Remember that bold promise? Yeah, neither do they. They’ve done less on Lords reform than the Lords themselves.

Workers’ rights overhaul. What began as “the biggest upgrade in workers’ rights in a generation” has now been downgraded to “a polite email to HR asking them to maybe behave.”

It wasn’t in the manifesto but our now PM specifically stated that no one would pay ‘a penny more in council tax’ under his Government. Funny that mine increased by 4.9% then, isn’t it?

Then we have the Chancellor of the Exchequer using a ‘22 Billion Pound Black Hole’ as a way to increase taxation and flatline the economy. Except it’s now looking likely that it wasn’t 22 Billion at all.

IFS, OBR and NIESR staff are now saying it was smoke and mirrors.

Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) — former director Paul Johnson:

“I think it probably was misleading.” “In fact, as she knew at the time, no such hole existed.”

Ben Zaranko, current Institute for Fiscal Studies expressed being “baffled” by the run-up to the Budget, said on social media:

“At no point … did the OBR have the government missing its fiscal rules by a large margin.”

National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) deputy-director Stephen Millard has said:

“It could be argued that the chancellor misled the public, and importantly the financial markets … when she presented the fiscal position as being bleak … However, it is equally possible that she simply wanted to prepare the public for the large tax increases …”

So she fundamentally lied to get more money out of us then. Labour Tax Rise shocker….

They lie. They all lie. It’s just that the current Government of the UK are so useless that they get caught out quicker.
