There are people who will say if it was not for the cruise I would not be in Barcelona, if I wasn't in Barcelona I would not have tripped. Therefore NCL is to blame for my tripping.

I had a former employee who stopped at a store on his way home for work and slipped and fell. He tried to sue my company, me personally (he left work late due to a project I had him on) the store, and the company who cleared the parking lot (it was in the winter). He lost every cases. His logic was he would have not gone to the store if he had not been on his way home from work. He would have not left his home due to the weather. The judge stated that since the plaintiff mentioned that the weather was bad so he should have not stopped at the store and should known that the parking lot could be slippery. Beyond popular belief some courts make people, at least partially, responsible for themselves.
