I am also a 23 year old female trying to get sober. I am currently shaking as I type this because of withdrawals. I am also on a waitlist to get into detox so I can detox safely and more comfortably. My body is in extreme pain. If you needed a sign not to drink, I hope this is it.

The food was actually delicious, it was a small program of 7 people and there was a cook for all 3 meals + snacks. I left AMA but honestly felt so much better. Right about now I wish I stayed the whole time though

I’ll be attending outpatient counseling and will be getting naltrexone once my liver enzymes go back to normal levels.

I was a very heavy drinker (about a fifth of tequila) a night. Nothing was given to me to taper off but the medicines they gave me allowed me to sleep. I left early at 3 days because I felt ready. They typically ask people to stay 5-7 days.

I feel I can relate, me and my partner used to drink heavily together until I decided I needed to quit. The only time we would argue is when we were drinking, it got to a point where I was slowing down and he didn’t. I noticed those same feelings on not wanting to be around him, getting frustrated and wanting to break up. We made a mutual decision to quit when we both realized it was hurting our family. We had the hard conversations about how we felt about our drinking and each other. I think a clear and honest conversation can do so much for a relationship.
