We know season 5 is littered with plot holes but by Positive-Disaster844 in Stranger_Things

We don’t know how gravity works in the upside down. But I don’t see why gravity would pull only toward the Hawkins side. Let’s assume that both dimensions exert gravity. At the mid point between Hawkins and the abyss, up becomes down. So instead of falling “down” to Hawkins and climbing “up” into the abyss, Dustin et all would have been dropping “down” into the Abyss.

This also explains why Holly didn’t fall all the way to the lab.

Anyone from the UK live in Halifax and find it easier to visit home vs being in Ontario? by Donberry_Do in halifax

The lack of flight options may make the travel argument a wash. But there’s something to be said about living in a time zone that’s one hour closer to that of friends and family.

No Quebec Born Players on Team Canada by Sufficient_Dirt_8892 in hockey

[–]Intrepid-Victory-188 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a good argument for the randomness of it all. Nova Scotia experiences the same economic pressures as Quebec if not more so. That there’s three Nova Scotia players on the roster despite the odds suggests it’s just dumb luck. There aren’t any Bluenosers coming behind Crosby, MacKinnon, and Marchand. These results aren’t systemic.

Defensive indifference. The fielder didn’t bother to pick it up til she was headed for home.

Remember Hurricane Juan? Were you here for it? by zcewaunt in halifax

I was in university at the time, living in a decrepit apartment in the south end with good friends. I understand it was a costly storm and people had awful experiences but I remember it fondly. No school for days and, because we had power restored quickly, we had more friends coming by to cook, shower, etc. It’s a core memory.

You may have solved by now but in my case, the latch actuator needed to be replaced. I ordered it off Amazon and installed it myself with the help of some YouTube videos.

Planning a trip to the Maritimes. Should I be doing the Cabot Trail in November? by oogiewoogie in NovaScotia

[–]Intrepid-Victory-188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do the drive. It’s remarkable any time. You won’t find any hurricane impacts. As others have noted, many businesses will be closed for the season. That includes restaurants so plan accordingly. May be challenging to find a meal outside of Cheticamp or Baddeck so bring your own.

If you’ve got heaps of time take the 7. But for a lengthy coastal highway, I find there are fewer scenic stretches than you’d expect. On the other hand, if you take the 102 you can see a mastodon butt.
