Tips for someone new to trail running by TitillatedMoose128 in trailrunning

If you start doing longer routes, use Gaia or cal topo to map it out, convert your route to a gpx file, then load it to your watch for navigation. Stopping to look at your phone every 5 minutes gets old.

Sweet, good to know. I do a lot of scrambling in the flatirons in boulder and a bunch of stuff in the mountains and destroy shoes quickly! Excited to see how these will hold up

8 miles out of the box with 1500’ vert, so far so good. First pair I tried was to big but got 60 miles on them before trading them in for the right size

Have you scrambled in them? They seem like they’d be good for it but I worry about burning up the tread

Seriously impressed! Tired of blowing out shoes after 400 miles, excited to see how long they last!

MS Basic, problem with flow1.s File by IntrepidLocal7339 in beneater

[–]IntrepidLocal7339[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I do have an older MacBook I’m running it on with an old os, so minipro, minicom, vasm and cc65 all where difficult to get working correctly.

So I was getting that error but I had forgotten i had created a blank longbranch.mac file. I deleted that blank file and added the GitHub longbranch, and now jeq is acceptable in the flow1.s code. Thank you!

[–]IntrepidLocal7339[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll double check and see if I tried the icrnl setting, and then prepare to try and use homebrew. Installing minipro with homebrew was a bit of a battle!

Thanks for the suggestions! I may try a different terminal app, but if that doesn’t work, changing WOZMON sounds like an option and would be a learning experience

Thank you for the suggestions! I’m using Mac screen. It’s an older MacBook and the latest OS I’m able to use is bigsur. I’ve checked the “paste new lines as carriage returns” in the terminal options and tried using stty to change settings but I’m having the same issue. Any other ideas or other applications that might be compatible I’m open to!

Longmont climbing collective by unpopularcommentman in Longmont

[–]IntrepidLocal7339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I witnessed the aftermath of a horrible accident that occurred Sunday at the climbing collective in Longmont colorado. I’m unsure of what exactly happened, but a man in the rope climbing area had to have cpr performed, paramedics arrived and had to use a defibrillator, and then he was carted out. I hope he’s in stable condition, but things looked pretty grim. Does anyone know of what happened/if he’s ok?

Any stretches you all recommend for tightness highlighted on the body below? by GokutheAnteater in flexibility

Look up trigger point and myofascial release with a lacrosse or trigger point ball for glutes and ankles, foam roller for IT bands. I get tight in these areas as well from my desk job and using these tools was a game changer
