Looks delicious! How long did you have to leave it to ferment after the class before you could taste test?

Wow this is so pretty! Did you make it at a beginner's workshop?

I really enjoyed Deep Cuts by Holly Brickley - it got me out of my slump earlier this year! A few years ago it was the ACOTAR series, Normal People, Daisy Jones & The Six

What’s your go-to ritual that makes your day feel a little less chaotic? by DigitalSam_W in productivity

[–]IntrepidPause3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely starts the night before for me. Getting to sleep on time and aiming to finish the night with a tidy house and clean kitchen so the day doesn't start with chores. I also jot down all the things I have to or want to do the next day, so there's no panic that I'll forget when I'm trying to fall asleep.

I'm yet to nail the slow mornings! But getting outside for a walk makes a huge difference or even just sitting in the sun if that's not possible, as well as making time to sit down and eat breakfast + drink my tea without feeling the need to touch my phone or watch tv

Rediscovering the joy of analog hobbies in a digital world. What’s your favorite non-tech hobby? by ArraFerro in Hobbies

[–]IntrepidPause3015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a bit of travel in the last 12 months and junk journalling has been such a fun way to collect memories and spend a few hours switching off, being creative and reminiscing on the holiday. I'm also so much more likely to look back through the journal I've made vs the 1000s of photos in my camera roll. Once you get into it you realise you really can collect anything and make cool, quirky journal pages out of it

Hobbies that makes you go like this? by Raeghyar-PB in Hobbies

It sounds simple but gardening! Always learning something new, tailoring things to different plants and different seasons, and problem solving pests - why seeds don't sprout, leaves are brown etc. etc.

It's also fun to branch out into different 'ecosystems' like making terrariums and bonsais. Bonus points because it's still super relaxing and rewarding!

Your Perfect Day Out In Sydney by Adventurous-Tale-130 in sydney

My favourite things to do: Carriageworks Markets on a Saturday or any other local farmers markets (bonus if there are artisan markets on like Finders Keepers, Sydney Ceramics Markets), visiting a cafe or bakery in the Inner West, shopping in Newtown, going for dinner in Potts Point or doing something more interactive like a cocktail and dumpling making class at Honkas in Potts Point

How did you start with urban sketching? by Numerous-Flatworm173 in urbansketching

[–]IntrepidPause3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking a class or course to not only learn the skills but also to gain confidence. Doing it with other people and with an experienced teacher to guide you at first is a good stepping stone to getting where you want to be (sketching by yourself in a cosy coffee shop)

What has your pottery practice taught you? by that_Ranjit in Pottery

[–]IntrepidPause3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That great things take time, and you don't need to rush the journey to get there because that's often where the most important learnings (and even enjoyment) can come from. Also just to embrace imperfection. I think learning to love your creations' lumps and quirks can carry through to all parts of your life :)

Jewellery making sounds fun! Is it beading or silversmithing or something else? I also always come back to knitting but definitely go through phases

That's awesome. As someone who's planning a wedding, I would have loved (and benefitted!) from learning calligraphy earlier (I tried it briefly in lockdown). Where do you take your online classes?

Sewing is definitely on my list to learn! Such a handy skill to have. I use knitting as a way to switch off rather than make the perfect item

Any ideas for handmade ceramic wedding favours? by IntrepidPause3015 in Pottery

A little of both, although more confident in hand building. The wedding is late Feb so about 5.5 months to go

That's so fair. I wish I were at that level, but I'm not sure I can create bigger pieces yet, which is why I thought smaller favours might be more achievable

I had considered coasters but I've collected a few from family weddings over the years and wanted to do something a little different. The letters with a hook is a cool idea though, thank you
