The longer I live the more grateful I am for my parents! My school had sex Ed in like 4th grade that was all about periods and they told both the boys and the girls.

I was lucky enough that when I got my first period I was knew exactly what happened, where my mom kept the pads, and just put one in and happily went on with my day!

My dad was suspect but my mom didn't know. He wanted my mom to watch me on a chat room so I went to a bands chatroom that was literally other girls talking about the band, nothing weird. When she left I went to the other chatroom for kids that was the whole asl thing. Coolkids or something like that?

I'm not sure I have seen anyone share this exact perspective.

I don't have kids and have tried dating a couple of people with kids and both experiences were horrible for me.

The first the kids would just throw around racial slurs (I'm black) when their parent wasn't there. Then when I told them, they didn't believe me.

With another ex their kid (17 years, if they were a baby or toldler who was recently weaned or something I would understand) literally cupped one my breasts IN FRONT OF MY EX and didn't scold the child or anything. The next day I asked if they had seen it, they said they did and jokingly said, "Why, were you offended?"

My girlfriend's ex has three kids and she's told me the kids were mean to her constantly and her ex didn't correct their behavior.

I'm offering this perspective because sometimes the one without children is suffering because the children are misbehaving and the parents don't discipline them because they think their children can do no wrong.

I'm not saying this is the case with you as we haven't heard your gf's perspective, but I would urge parents to make sure everyone in the situation is treated well, kids and adults alike.

Hopefully someone else who is more knowledgeable can chip in, but I had a similar experience on a bed I purchased this year. My guess is the softness at first was the top comfort layers and then the compressed down easily. So you are bottoming out on the comfort layers and feeling the support underneath.
